Malcolm Smith and his stories.  His attention to detail as a competitive rider and a manufacturer was highly practical/uncanny/innovative.  Listening to this man is akin to meeting up with the Buddha.

Time well spent on a rainy-no-hope-of-a-ride-day, while waiting for the Rockies vs. Cubs wildcard game.

I saw him at the Honda Hoot in '07 or '08. It's sad to see his age is catching up with him.

A man who rode in his specialties is similar to a bull rider, except the bull rider only rides the leaping concrete mixer for 8 seconds.  He was on those bikes for hours upon hours and days upon days.
All that being thrown around and muscling the beast to get what he wanted it to do and where he wanted it to go, probably beat Malcolm up physically beyond what that bull rider had done to him.

It's somethin' that he can still think straight and move his limbs at all.  Then again, he was always a marvel at how fluid he rode and what kind of physical shape he was in.  Maybe he's still a kid at heart!

He has my admiration for sure. Smiley
