I'm going to look at a used Bushtec trailer tomorrow after work if the seller still has it. I don't know what model or year it is yet, I do know it has air suspension.

I want a trailer which will be stable at interstate speeds. Anybody have experience with them?

Have a 2006 Bushtec Roadstar I pull with my 1999 Interstate.  Awesome trailers and pull great.  Not as big as some which is good with a Valkyrie since their brakes are not the best.  These trailers track great.  Hardly even know it is back there.

Have a 94 turbo+2 with custom paint mural

Haven't used it in years, since riding to the Michigan Inzane

You just check the air with the low pressure pump and after packing the trailer walk it forward and back a bit to set the suspension. Smooth ride   I would be going 90 and ask Bonnie to turn around and see if the trailer was back there on trips to Montreal.

I had run into John of Bushtec and he said if I drove to Tennessee he would replace my 6' tongue with a 10' one and he did and a whole lot more back in 2006.
I think he sold the company a few years ago

Needs new tires now and some day I will get around to it

When we travel either I fly the wife or we travel VERY light these days

I've been thinking of getting one for camping trips.  But I have seen the results of two accidents, both where the rider got the trailer right wheel over the edge of the asphalt with a sharp dropoff; in both cases the rider lost control and went down in an apparent over-correction.  In one of them he then went off the road, down a steep embankment, rolled the entire rig, and died.

While I have been riding all my life, a moments inattentiveness with a track 24" wider on each side than normal has the potential to be ...problematic.   I'm sure that over time it would be second nature; but I'm not sure I can be perfect enough until that time comes...

I had a Turbo 2+ many years ago. Fantastic trailer! MUST pay attention to how you load the trailer, too much weight in back compared to weight in the front and the trailer will NOT tow correctly. Must have more weight on the tongue than in the back. Other than that, 90 miles an hour and didn't know it was back there......UNTIL I hit the mountains of Colorado. High altitude and the added weight of the trailer and the mountain grades, slowed the Valk down considerably.  Embarrassed

Borrowed one (& Road King pulling vehicle) for an extended weekend trip many years ago. Except for the normal extended braking distances, you truly don't know it's back there unless you catch sight of it in a mirror. The tall skinny wheel/tires combined with the air suspension was years ahead of it's time, combined with the optional snap disconnect coupler it's probably the best setup available. The lower rolling resistance of those tall, high pressure tires compared to short fat ones is surprising.  Only things that could be an issue is if it needs maint. just like any other item with bearings, rubber tires, etc. The optional tongue-mounted insulated cooler was on the one I used, the weight of the food & ice didn't seem to change the ride at all on the trip from the grocery store compared to the one to it.

I’ve been pulling a trailer behind my Goldwings and Valkyrie’s 2-up for over 20 years never having an issue besides a trailer flat tire that was changed on the side of the road with a spare. Pulled a Cyclemate, Escapade and Bushtec’s behind my Valkyrie’s and Goldwing’s.  i like the tracking of a Bushtec the best.

Hello,
Yes, I have a 2006 Wing and matching bushtec . I may be putting them both up for sale in the very near future.
Took the wing with trailer to Lake George for Americade numerous times. Then in 2008 my wife and I along with 3 other couples went from Jersey to the Florida Keys.
The Bushtec tows along without a hitch  Wink

Pulled the trigger and bought it yesterday. It's a 2000 Bushtec Roadstar. It's got the rear bumper, nose bra, cooler, top rack and swivel. Seems to be in good shape. I probably won't have it on road till spring.

Will buy and install a Bushtec vertical hitch for my F6B over the winter. May or may not have it painted. It's gloss back and chrome, my B is matte silver and matte black. Looks to be a great trailer. Should make it easier for the wife and I to pack for trips. Also I hope to do some motorcycle camping next year, should make that easier too.

Thanks for the advice guys.
