I was drafted in 1966 and then enlisted after I was sworn in. I went to Ft.Knox Ky. for reception , and then to Ft. Campbell for basic in the 101st Airborne. I was not a jumper , but jammed in for quick training. I was injured in basic and was in the hospital for a week. I was discharged and rammed thru and finished basic with my company.
I was then sent to Aberdeen Md. for advanced training. From there to Ft. Hood Tx.
Here is the query. In a battalion formation , I was called out with about forty others and reported to a med building. We were told to strip to our skivvies.   Two corpsman and a recorder were in a private area where we were looked at and all our body scars were recorded. I asked before I left what was going on. One corpsman whispered "to be able to identify body parts" do not say anything"!

Over the years I kept mostly silent , but in conversation with a friend, he said he went thru the same thing. He is the only other person that said he knew what I was referring to.
Is there anyone else here that went thru this .  I was on seven levees for Nam , but was always put in another training school. I stayed stateside. I was injured three times and shot once in training. It may have been a ricochet. I was told that I could not report it.  As long as I have been out , I doubt if they will court marshal me. There is a lot more to the story tho.
