how much I like the Valkyrie 3rd gear.

Since moving to Clayton my straight line riding has decreased by about 70%.

This section of road goes up up and up past Heavens Landing and then down, down, down. East to West.

Eastern point is at about 1600ft. Tops out at about 2600ft and then drops to about 1450ft.

The uphill section comprises of short straights linked together with sweeping bends.

3rd gear and up to 6,000 rpm on the straights.

The western down slope is much more curvaceous so a mix of 3rd and 2nd.

Heading east from my home I'm straight onto Warwoman Rd. Another 3rd gear zip, zap. Much flatter in attitude.

1800ft near my home to about 1600ft at the eastern end.

Then it's a choice to turn left and go up mountain to Highlands or left and down mountain towards Walhalla Sc.

Choices, choices.  cooldude

Overlook on Hwy 76 west of Clayton. Looking northwards towards NC.

I've been back up in there a few times, the first time with
Stanley Steamer... you can go dirt back in there pretty easy  Smiley ...

Joe and Wimp and Larry and Harley Joe stayed in Seneca last night,
and I rode with them some this morning... they left SC on 76, I got them
there via various routes that ended (for me) at the 76 end of Unity
Church Road...

I'm toying with the idea of buying a Jeep or something I can drive the forest roads on.  I realize I don't bounce anymore so a dual sport is off my list.
