If you get right down to it, why does it matter if someone waves at you or not? And, bike make has absolutely nothing to do with it. I get tired of hearing it's HARLEY riders that don't wave. I ride Harleys and my Valkyrie. I don't get all butt hurt if someone doesn't wave at me on either bike. I don't pay attention to what bike someone is riding because I don't care. That's as bad as hearing Harley guys bitch about metric riders not waving. I've never seen this conversation take place on a Harley board. .
I'm not bashing Harley riders for not waving. I am just stating facts. 99 percent of foreign bikes that I wave at wave back And probably 75 percent of Harley riders wave back.?.....unless they are wearing a helmert.... and helmeted Harley riders are in the 99 precent bracket of wavebackers.. I wave at all bikes. Not all bikes wave back. No big deal to me.... just curious as to why. Waving back has been a part of motorcycle culture since I've been riding.....but things change and I'm ok with it.

I do the committed, up high, smiling Bob (Enzyte), full hand wave
I had forgotten about those commecials. Gave me a chuckle remembering that. Yeah, I got a kick outta those commercials too! I forgot what the advertisements were about (if I ever knew or paid attention) and had to Google "happy smiling, waving guy" or something like that. Lo and behold a whole page of these old commercials showed up...

That's probably because Harley riders don't wave to each other very much either.

Some things I noticed in my area.
Sport bike riders least likely to wave, but most still do. This could be because some cruiser bagger riders do not wave to them.
Scooter riders are surprised to have someone wave at them. Again a lot of cruiser, bagger, and other types probably do not wave at them. Having put a few thousand miles on maxi scooters only about half of all bikes would wave.
Some Harley riders do not wave, but over 90 percent do.
Me - I wave to everyone which includes all bikes, scooter, bicycles, folks out walking or cutting grass by the road and my favorite are Amish carts. The Amish children give the most enthusiastic waves. Just puts a smile on my face.

It does not matter if they do or dont to me. One observation from me. When I was riding mu Street Glide and with 6-7 other buddies riding I waved at anything on two wheels but the others didnt? Why? I never ask them. They all knew I also had two Valkyries and was welcomed to ride with them on either of those too. Sold the HD a few years ago and haven't regretted it. I also sold my Interstate (kinda regret that) but still have my '97 bee and the wing.so life is good and I still wave at 'em all.

I notice this too. I have a couple clips from my rides of amish kids on the back of buggies/carriages and their enthusiasm. I was never sure if it was because I was waving at them or they liked the motorcycle

They avoid them as they are concerned they will result in pride. I always enjoy the returned greetings of Amish children. I do wave to them. I don't consider the hand down motorcycle greeting a true "wave".

Is more natural to me as well moving my left hand UP past the handlebar vs. my hand down low.

How Christ-like. When asked what would Jesus do? Remember that overturning tables and throwing money changers out of the Temple is within the realm of possibilities. And besides, NO ONE ASKED YOU FOR YOUR OPINION!

I thought that I was the only one that did this when someone didn't wave back........... [GIF of motorcyclist waving to a second motorcyclist, then giving him the finger when the other doesn't wave back] How Christ-like. When asked what would Jesus do? Remember that overturning tables and throwing money changers out of the Temple is within the realm of possibilities. And besides, NO ONE ASKED YOU FOR YOUR OPINION! So, swearing at another rider because they don't wave back is equivalent to the Son of God driving thieves who are taking advantage of God's people from His Father's house? How righteous! You, who claim to be a follower of Jesus Christ, should be endeavouring to be sanctified from such shameful behaviour, not emulating and applauding it. I know you don't want to read opinions that call you out, but do you expect to be able to post things on a public forum without others commenting on it? Are you feeling like your table is being overturned?

Besides, if you weren't so busy being SELF RIGHTEOUS you'd realize TWO things: First: It's a joke! (Some people take themselves entirely too seriously). Second: If you really watch you can see that the passing rider is "Flipped Off" nonchalantly after he has passed. Thus he is completely and totally unaware of it. NO HARM NO FOUL !!!!!!!!

It appears you have a distorted view of what a Christian is and what Christ expects of those who follow Him. If "no harm, no foul" applies to Christians, what did Christ mean when he said, “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart?” And is it only religious fanatics who obey what God said through Paul in Ephesians 5?: "Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving." If so, I hope the label religious fanatic applies to me more and more as I seek to obey Christ.
