The election is days away and I am just trying to control my temper and my tongue

It is getting more difficult to be sure....

I told the wife Thanksgiving will be a politics free zone or the door will be open for anyone to exit if they wish. I just am at my wits end.
My parents were also of opposite politically, it is stressful these days.

Best part of my day today was I had a wonderful talk on the way home with my friends wife out near Indy, in fact I spent an extra 15 minutes in the driveway listening to her mostly.  She has known me almost 40 yrs a devout Catholic, as is my friend who I met when I was 18 in Buffalo.  Sadly, he is out in Portland fixing some issue with certain advanced jet parts for his employer but we will speak this weekend if we can make the time.  We couples celebrate our differences with humor and friendship, the way it should be.  They will be my friends forever and I am fortunate for their friendship.

We, and many of you, get each other and have the same issues with some of our kids and relatives as Gary spoke of, even spouses.

In the old days, the 1920's, my grandfathers wild family came out of 1 br apt, 9 kids, and as they became adults with small kids of their own they needed to rent a small hall every sunday for family get togethers.  Every sunday without fail.  Now you name it Republicans,Democrats, Socialist, one communist, I think one was an anarchist what became libertarian, all under one roof yelling screaming but loving each other and always have the back of the rest of the family when needed, and all needed help often being so poor. Back when unions really were how to get a few hours work a week outdoors and keep bread on the table.

How is it that we as a nation have sadly lost this ability to have each others back on a daily basis and where is the respect for others?      I reject that totally in my life.  I refuse to not be there for friends and family, even those who I cant stand politically what comes out of their mouth and keyboard.  We can love even those whom we do not always like, such as our kids sometimes or other family.

I can only hope that the quiet americans come out and vote against divisiveness and for our Constitutional rights and obligations as americans to each other and to our country.

Whatever is the outcome I aint leaving either this board or my home. My stand is here for better or worse, my friends you are all safe here  if you find yourself stuck in ny. (even fudgie who is on his way to ny now)

Thank you all for your friendship  Hang in there.  I think it will get better.

If we acknowledge it's the crazy people who are driving a wedge into the roots of the USA we will be OK.

Some of the crazy people wield guns and some wield political power.

Sadly it looks like AZ is going to elect it's first democratic senator. The polls show Kirsten Synema at 50% to 44% for Martha McSalley. Also it's the first female no matter who wins. They both ran the dirtiest campaigns I've ever seen.

Sandy, don't forget about Dennis DeConcini. He was sent to represent the good people of AZ for 18 years.  cooldude (I'm not sure it's been the dirtiest, but it sure has been the most petty) on both sides.
Hope you guys have a nice get together this weekend. (Work Sucks  tickedoff )
