was cooped up too long, so only went for a 30 mile ride, but was still a ride today.  Have not ridden either VAlkyrie since 3rd week in September.  Has been horrible weather all of October and busy as well.  It fired up nice, but boy oh boy, check that rear tire of mine was way, way low around 26 psi, if that.

I let off the choke too early (my I/S is colder blooded requiring tons more choke and longer vs. my 98 tourer for some odd reason) and went to put in 1st gear after letting off choke all the way and engine died not idling high enough after 1-2 minutes of full choke.  Plus, was only 45 degrees today and cold, cloudy and damp.  Rear tire got a little squirrely twice braking and shifting 1st to 2nd gear due to yet again a stray rain shower just leaving home was going to head back home but pulled over and noticed it was just a stray shower, until 7 p.m. when it will break loose rain, rain, rain yet again.  So, continued on needing to burn that old 87 E10 gas outta there some and fill up with 91 octane NON ethanol.

Felt good to get out today even if was damp roads and rain felt almost like sleet pellets hitting me for the 20 minutes I was in the stray rain shower.  I had to goose it a few times doing 70+ mph just to make sure it was running proper..   cooldude   My Valk was dirty to begin with so was not too worried it got more dirty and needs a major cleaning since first time in 9+ years of owning it I have NEVER washed the bike all summer long in 2018, only the windshield once due to severe bug splats unable to see thru it.   Driving in the rain though do not like for my normal 1st to 2nd gear shifting likes to squirt the back end out on me and had to brake hard once and used too much rear brake sliding about 5 inches sideways the rear tire not to my liking.

Rain all day tomorrow and 20+ mph winds so doubt just like last weekend with rainy cold weather both days the Valk will get out again, will see and hope for an odd 55+ degree weekend in NOvember and hopefully NOT windy and the sun being out.

it is weird isn't it how the same engine/tranny same bike from 1 to another is totally different animal in terms of using choke being cold blooded or not as well as gas mpg variance.  My tourer seems quicker more pickup all around the mph range but only gets 32 mpg vs. my I/S seems smoother not quite as quick but near 36 avg mpg same roads.  I guess that is how it is or is NOT tuned plus the tourer just flipped 80K miles vs. my I/S only a measly 39K miles on it.  I am lucky I put on 1500 miles on each VAlkyrie this riding season, if that even, probably almost the same 1500 miles on my 250cc scooter being shorter 15-20 mile trips.   At least I keep them running every so often not trying to let any of them sit for much longer than 1 month, except come soon in November when all bikes get put up until last weekend in March or early April yet again.    Just too dangerous and salty road conditions to ride them once the snow comes later in November or early December but have seen it done by a brave few who attempt to ride longer.   Do not see how anyone can enjoy riding in 30-35 degree temps even if all bundled up.  Have done 35-36 degree temps but not for very long just a couple times.  My limit is usually around 42 degrees for temps and today was pushing that 45 degrees with COLD RAINY drizzle.

forgot to ask in original posting:  Since the bike has been sitting for about 6 weeks not moved and did not help that rear tire pressure dropped to around 26 psi just sitting in the cold,  should be normally 44 for me,  has anyone noticed like I did today that the first mile or so at low 25 mph or less in town speeds there was what I felt as a FLAT SPOT every revolution of the tires?  Not terrible or anything, but enough to notice a flat spot feeling in the tires that eventualy went away at higher speeds and into next town 15 miles away nothing felt then.

I have noticed that flat spot feeling as well in my trailer tires going down the road the first mile of in town low speeds as well since my trailers do not move much all season long either.

I have never felt flat spots on my Interstate after being parked for long periods of time, but then it is always parked on a center-stand. Trailers that are parked I block up.

you jack up your trailer so it is off the tires hitting the ground?  winter time only or ?

Never really done that ever even if say my fishing boat has sat for years not used on a trailer.

Never felt flat spots on the bike but our vehicles get them on cold mornings. My bike stays in a heated garage though.

I have a fifth wheel that sets for extended periods of time; so yes I lift tires off the ground.
