People who know their way around firearms and ranges, and gun slobs, come in all genders and colors.
But yeah, that was funny.

My takeaway is.... if you're going to go the the trouble, time and expense of going to a (private) range, you might as well bring a few things to shoot, and spend some time there.
I long for the days when I could go to my local USAF combat arms range (4 minutes from my office) on my lunch break. (for free, and usually alone) (I'd just back my El Camino right up to the shooting positions, open the back camper, and have 3-4 rifles and 3-4 pistols and a bunch of ammo ready to go) (letting the combat arms guys shoot my stuff, might get me an M16 on full auto, and that was always a hoot) (it was CA low desert, and there was always local wildlife around, like big jackrabbits, roadrunners, rattlesnakes, tarantulas, and big birds of prey and hawks.... but no hunting allowed)
