The G1 Watch was extended; now in effect for both 9 & 10 November UTC_days due to CH HSS effects.

The agency predicts that the stars, also known as the northern lights, will be visible in Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and northern Maine.

But of course here in SE WI we will have cloud cover if we are able to see it. The northern portion of the state does see the northern lights fairly often. I have watched them while hunting in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. It can be impresive to say the least.

I have a friend who lives on top of a big ass hill and will see if we can observe it from here.

Thanks for the heads up !

That means there's a "solar storm" going on which blasts us with EMP radiation.  Those can affect sensitive electronic gear like GPS's and such.  I had THREE ZUMO 440'S ruined by solar storms. Apparently they were excepionally sensitive. 440's have been out of production for some time, and my ZUMO 650 has not been affected.  Just a headsup - if you still have a 440, don't turn it on at this time.  The government calls these events "Black Swans".  See https://www.computerworld.com/article/2494124/disaster-recovery/-black-swan--predictions-for-2013-include-solar-storm.html and https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/what-damage-could-be-caused-by-a-massive-solar-storm-25627394/
