Last year Bonnie and I flew to Calgary
We rode down thru Glacier then back to Canmore
With the help of an app called Gypsy Apps we had a tremendous time in that part of the country visiting Lake Louise, Banff, Jasper and spending time hiking to waterfalls and up trails and walking a glacier
One of the highlights for me was one late afternoon in Jasper I saw this bike and met Carlos. He had just retired from his job in Argentina and bought this 1200gs bmw Then he rode down to the tip of south america and around and up thru Chile, thru central america, up thru Mexico and the USA to the arctic circle
He was on the way back down when I met him. There were MANY pieces of his bike missing from falls/crashes and plain oops moments but he was smiling as you can see
A real bucket list trip and one I would consider if I spoke Spanish better than I do. Between us and a map we spent some fun times before we left for the hotel.
The 1200 is not a light bike, maybe an 800 would be better for the gravel and dirt ? I seem to recall Hayhauler and Disco have 800's they used to tour the rockies a few years back
