I hear happy "Veterans Day".  Yes , I am happy I am alive. But those who did not survive , they are the ones who deserve the prayers.

ALL GAVE SOME , SOME GAVE ALL.

I feel a little guilty when someone says, "Thank you for your service."  I was active duty very much during my formative years and the Marine Corps certainly contributed much more to me than what I gave.

Army, Sergeant E-5. 1980-83

I was recruited under the slogan “Be All That You Can Be”, didn’t know it at the time but it rang true.  Gave me a start in life; I’d be someplace less in life without.  In all honestly though, three years was enough.

Funny thing though, time . . .  I found a pair of old 1982 issue (new stock) Army boots a few years ago in my size, they fit perfectly these days.
