This morning, got called out for the second time this weekend to spread that evil stuff on icy roads around town. We’ve had tons of rain this fall, and the water is leeching out of the hills & roadsides and forming ice in places.
4 accidents between 6-7 am this morning, so out salting we went. When I got home, I did some yard work, and figured it was the last day for a little scoot before we salt the whole town. Ice predicted tonite and again Thursday nite.
Did about an hour ride, filled up the tank & added sea foam.  Cry
Sure hope it ain’t the last ride,
Craig

There is usually a few spells of warm up left before the holidays so maybe you will get a chance to ride on the Valk with no salt on the road

Got a nice ride in this weekend as well, but it is getting cooler.

I'm thinking after it warms up a bit , I might get some more riding in before 2018 ends. I don't do cold or snow(never) riding like I used to, but I might go out in the 40's and lower 50's. Bike is in the garage on the battery tender.

Well Craig, today's rain ought to clear off some of that salt. As long as it doesn't get cold enough that they call you to spread more rust dust, there may still be some more riding for us.

Not yet.  Got the battery tender plugged in for an anticipated skip on Thursday or Friday afternoon if the thermometer hits the projected high of 57* for a short run of an hour or so at slow speeds on the back roads.
More good ridin' time to come. Smiley

Warmer temps have definitely ended here in our neck of the woods, Got a good 300 km ride in this past Saturday in single digit C temperatures, but it was a nice sunny day.

Probably my last good ride of the year, as I want to spend some time pulling the old girl apart a bit over the next couple months to check a few things out and do some more preventative maintenance/replacement of parts and a couple of small mods. Had a good year so far with over 15,000 km so can't complain too much cooldude

Yeah, 2-4 inches coming Thursday nite, thanks for the positive thoughts, but it might be over.

Yeah. After I posted earlier about the rain clearing the roads, I saw the latest forecast. I should've kept my mouth shut.

That’s the way it goes, welcome to New England.

But it could warm up and rain, clean the roads, and offer another opportunity to ride before real winter. Been a strange weather year for sure.

The salt gods have already performed here. Our ride time is done. My bikes were put to bed 2 weeks ago with non ethanol gas and Sea Foam. They get started throughout the winter. My bikes don't need anything mechanical just nut and bolt and checks. Now it's time for cleaning and changes. As I say every year. Hope all you guys that ride year round
