Friend of mine from P G R/Combat Vets had invited me down to the West Plains Missouri High School Veterans Day Celebration. Very Happy I attended. The students and faculty served us breakfast and coffee. I would have been happy to purchase the breakfast I was fed-It was THAT Good. Then we filed out to the gym and the Veterans were in front of the podium under the basketball net. Students up in the bleachers on either side. As the speaker was getting started he named a young Lady senior who had already committed to one of the Armed Services. He called her to please come and sit with the Vets. Started out with each of the 5 services music and asked each of those from that service to please stand. Then he asked those starting with WWII to please stand. And much to my surprise 8 or 10 Men-with help-stood.

Then the Korean War Vets-again surprised How Many were there-The Vietnam Vets and right up to the Sand Box Vets. I was touched by how Concerned and willing to Listen the Students were. Those that made a point of thanking me for my Service I politely reminded them to Please NEVER Forget the 58400 some that came home in metal cylinders. And as i do most every Veterans day-U S Army Major James "Jimmy" Tremayne-K I A Vietnam and-L C P L U S Marines Vincent "Tiny" Meltzer-K I A Vietnam. Went to school with Vince and Jimmy was my cousin. Both of y'all-FOREVER REST IN PEACE. Miss both of you more than I can say.
