"When You're Dead, Your Bank Account Goes to Zero"

Livin' Better Side of The Great Divide

A genuine guitar virtuoso and all around nice guy left us at the age of 85.

Rest well, sir, for you gave us a wonderful time to enjoy your music, humor, and generosity over the years.

My favorite Roy song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tx8x3LCnYZw   Grin    Listen to it twice.  The lyrics are great.

If it had strings - Roy Clark could play it. The world is a lesser place without him.

The guy made it look easy, and always smiling, one great picker. Will miss him.

Dang!
That's tough to hear!

He was my favorite on Hee Haw.

Like scooperhsd said: if it had strings...

And more when he was just a bit younger in 1964 having fun with Jimmy Dean on a beautiful Fender that looks customized for him.

Roy did a concert in Rifle, Colorado for free after the Black Sunday shutdown of the oil shale projects in May, 1982 as it put the whole region into a depression lasting nearly 10 years.

He was scheduled to headline the Garfield County Fair and was alerted that there wasn't gonna be enough money in the till to pay him as times were tough and advance ticket sales were down.  He played the date anyway and told the fair committee not to worry about his fee, but not to let it be known.  He was a real person and not just another personality who only thought about what he was gonna get out of a deal.  Roy was invited back years later by a local who took him elk hunting during season.  Thanks Roy.

He was a master of many stringed instruments. I think he could play a tampon!

buck and roy worked well together, loved that show as a kid, mostly because of the hot young ladies with nice tops and shorty shorts!
