When someone asks for parts , or parts for sale ,there is seldom a response. There are several wanted ads in the classified that I answered and no response. Many members put sold or found by the ads , but a lot of them do nothing. If you found or sold your part , then why not tell us.
My rant because of the road salt.

I'm looking for a boat on Craigslist. I find the same problem. I send an inquiry and there's no response. ??? On this list, we do have the option of deleting an ad.

Is it because when a pm comes in that it only shows a small typed number in the message bar and is not really noticeable

I've sent a few messages responding to classified ads. Some have worked out well, and others have had no response back at all. Probably 50-50. The ones that work well are usually active users on the site. I figure that some are selling their spare stuff after they've moved on to a different bike or just given up riding. Once they sell, they don't bother coming back to the forum at all, so they don't see further responses.

It would help if you could reply in the add and not just by Personal message. I am currently selling an item, not really an experienced user of classifieds. It took a few days but I discovered I has responses in the spam on my e-mail. I also just learned how to use the personal messages, where I also had request for information
When and if I sell the Items, I will edit the ad to say that I have sold.

Why should it be any different than the tech board? Ask a question about a problem, guys respond with the possible fix and the OP never responds after the initial question. I just don't get it. To those that do respond with a fix derived from info obtained here, thank you!

It could be that those people did not set up their registration so that they are notified of responses and PMs. Or, maybe they, just don't care or appreciate the responses once they get what they need.
Humans are pretty self centered creatures. Always felt most Valkyrie riders were a cut above though.
