If this is real that is the worst constructed rack system ever!
I have worked in many warehouse installing security systems some as big as 650,000 square feet and I have seen the supports hit bent and twisted and yet the rack was never in danger of coming down! This guy barely touched it and it was catastrophic! I have driven my share of fork lift usually with a cage to lift a man to run wires and I'm sure I have tap a pole at least a few times I can't even imagine such a result!

That is unbelievable it was a domino effect, I wonder if the guy on the lift made it out ok.

Yeah, blame the shelves. Must be a Liberty Mutual commercial. "I did all this research on a new forklift, and ran it into a shelving system. Guess I should have researched my insurance company." Shelving like that latches and is held in place by gravity. Notice how the rack of the forklift catches the corner of a shelf, not the vertical post station. Obviously it lifted it while wiping it away from the post and dislocated it, and from there it was all dominos.

Can you say "seriously overloaded?"
It collapsed, it wasn't knocked over or anything like that. It was overloaded, and came "crumbling down"!
Forklift driver may be alive, but those on the ground might have gotten away, but more likely crushed in the slide against the wall somewhere. He was also an idiot thinking he could get by something parked in the middle of the isle.

What we've seen is NOT unique at all. After the initial video there is another after that show a compilation of fork lift fails. Those storage racks go down a lot EASIER than I first thought. Driving truck as long as I did I've been in a LOT of warehouses. And I've NEVER seen a rack collapse happen. Been in a whse or two after rack collapses but Never during. I've also helped dismantle old warehouses. Sometimes the empty racks did Not want to come down. Sometimes they did-far too easily. RIDE SAFE.

I have dented a few rackings in my day, but always at super slow crawl speed for the darn few warehouses I have been at you can barely turn in between the aisles to get what you want out of the rack locations. Not a fan of narrower than should be aisles just to save a few inches. Make the darn warehouse bigger!!!!!!!!
Key is go SLOW and do not do anything at full speed. The few seconds you save thinking you are GREAT being an expert comes back to haunt most of us at one time or another.
The idiot I worked with some near 30 years ago liked to go full speed around a WET concrete floor and more than once slid into the freezer units denting them.

My new-to-me younger co-worker, 32 now, lost his leg messing on an upright forklift, crushed between the wall and the body when he thought he was going to fall off.
Put many years into warehousing. Was licensed on many machines, wire guided with arresting harness for manual top of the warehouse picking, fork lifts for the same, propane/electric, sit downs and stand ups. I've hit my share of racking, and have dented some hor and vert racking, but nothing ever did or would have come down.
