Kinda wondering Who's going on The Run For The Wall?

The one that goes to DC.

I have 3 times over the years, trying to decide if I can do it again.
It's really great to go and meet a lot of new friends and so unbelievable to see some of these veterans and the passion they have to continue.  but it really is a lot of work just wears me down.
I may just go part way this time.

The one in DC, or the portable one?

I've been to the local to me DC one three times (years ago, when it was only a quarter million), and that is enough.

A million (give or take) bikes is just too big of a group ride for me.

As a Nam Vet I would Love to go. But I am near certain my long distance touring days are done. My oxygen needs are such as have been discussed here before. Had I Known I wuz gonna live this long I Might have taken better care of myself!  Roll Eyes But on the other hand I have had a Lot of FUN!  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

One of the three routes passes through Frankfort, KY.   They stopped last year at the Vietnam memorial here.   It was an impressive sight seeing all those folks on bikes stopping to honor those that gave all.   Wish I could go but, it's unlikely I'll be back on two wheels by the next Run.

Maybe someday....

Yes it is a big crowd,  but you will see things that make your heart grow with pride
and in another moment make you weep like a school girl.
I try to go early and leave early and stop at Arlington to pay respects to my parents there.
Feel every American should walk through Arlington and read the headstones there and stop
to realize what has been given in their name.

You're so right  Dave. When I lived in the DC area everyone that came to visit wanted to go to Arlington Cemetery. I walked a lotta miles there and it does teach you a lot.

ANY of the War Memorials in D C including Arlington if you do NOT hear and feel the ghosts talkin to ya you Might wanna check yer pulse and see if yer still alive. When I saw my Cousins and his wife's grave at Arlington I could Not believe the emotions I felt. Then seeing his name and the guy I went to School with names on the Vietnam Wall-well damn near broke me. RIDE SAFE.

Arlington is a must see national treasure.

The best days to see it are not during Rolling Thunder.  For that event, certain roads and bridges are closed off at certain times, and it can be one of those you can't get there from here deals.

Traffic is bad enough on normal days.
