Before the latest unicorn fart tax that's causing the demonstrations, the French were paying $3.07 a gallon in tax...

I haven't been able to pin down how much the new "carbon tax" was that finally got people mad.

Seems like the more liberal the state, the higher their gas taxes.  Funny how that works.

There are more than a few “conservative” states with high gas taxes.

There are exceptions both ways, but it doesn't seem to be the rule.

US.......... (average, States vary)....    .53

Mexico.........................................     zero

Israel..........................................     4.20   (holy crap)

PS:
After enough time on telephone hold (to Social Security Admin) to pay some bills, balance my checkbook, obtain proof of payment of Part B Medicare for federal health plan premium reimbursement, have a bowel movement, drink a bottle of water (not necessarily in that order), I was able to actually speak to a human being, AND able to get them to correct the erroneous middle name they gave me (NONE) from my Medicare application back in March.

It's a freakin' miracle I tell you.   Grin

oh so close to under 2.00 per gallon, is now 2.059 E10 (87 octane) gas but the E88 stuff which is E15 I can use in my truck is now at 1.999 - yippee!   Wink

fine with me keeps going down under 2 bucks per gallon since between 3 vehicles locally putting on total at least 30000 miles per year on all of them (more like 40000 miles yearly since the kid cannot stay home),  every penny saved helps.   At least the kids pay for their own gas as they should since if you go play, gotta pay.

Heard no one thanking the current admin for the benefit of the low gas prices.

About $2.96 in Blaine WA, just across the border for the Canadians to gas up with cheap fuel. Works out to about $1.01/L, while local we're low of $1.30 .
