While some have gone and put full electronic cruise control on their bikes, I was not a big fan. But one day my friend went out and bought a BrakeAway throttle lock and I was not to impressed. But when he took his hand off the throttle and was able to maintain highway speeds I was interested. I like it but could not see the real use and was one of those someday things. Well he bought me one and I was like now I have to install it and was hesitating doing it. Friday needed some time to relax and tinkering is my relaxing time so I put it on and tried it on the way home from work. Pretty Good actually, was my thinking. So today took a bit of a cruise and I wish I had done it sooner. Made a big difference in just going along since although the speed varied a bit it pretty much maintained a fairly consistent speed and allowed me some freedom in the speed area. I really like it, it made even other situations much easier.

It was a great day for a ride, cool, dry a bit breezy but all in all a wonderful day. On one of my usual rides I did see one alligator though, I didn't think I would see any since its a been a bit colder.

I've had a few different brands/versions.   I don't recognize that particular version.   What is it?

I really like mine... so much so, that I think I'll have one on my next wheelbarrow as well! crazy2
Once I got used to having it, I don't see how I got along without it!

The Brake away is over $200 and is probably the best lock on the market. I like money too much so a $35 Vista Cruise works for me.

you can adjust speed while it is locked on, at least I can.

It only locks the throttle so going up a steep hill unless you input more throttle you will slow down

Had mine since 2003

Robert,
If you like the Break Away cruise then you would love the Rostra electronic cruise.  It will compensate for hills and valleys.  I love it when I am on interstates and long highways.
The best part is that I have a complete instal on the 1800 page.

+1 on the Rostra.  There's a good writeup on the install by BobB.  Looks intimidating it's so detailed but that detail is spot on.  Took me a cpl days to do the install and not much time after that fine tuning it. Works very well.  http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,86066.msg846383.html#msg846383

This bike also has a Brake-Away installed before the Rostra.  Same on Deerslayer and George and the Magna.
