gee whiz, at least put a cover over that black Valk Interstate in that shed so the beast cannot see all that white stuff coming down making him sad he cannot be on the road.... coolsmiley

I should talk though I have cycles sitting in my garage uncovered still and in the 20's for temps.  I did though today put stabilizer and seafoam in the tanks and removed the extras from them but still need to be fired up hopefully next weekend when in the 30''s again am hoping and hopefully change oil or at the very least cleaned up a little bit before putting a cover over them for good for 3+ months.  They might not even fire up weak battery from sitting not running at all since October since been a crappy October and all of November for riding this year either too cold or raining all the time.  Sure hope they start and run good come late March since did not run 91 octane NON ethanol in them last few tanks of gas starting in late September.

I bought the building so I don't have to cover them up.

I typically don't put them away completely for the winter.

I try to ride some during every calendar month.

But I haven't considered riding a bike in the "white" stuff since my dirt bike days.

GA Power said "let there be light".

Genny is tucked up nice and warm in the garage.

Ahh, GENNY. When you wrote, "The power just went out. Might have to crank Jenny at sunlight." I figured it was your wife or girlfriend. Still seemed like a good idea, though.  angel

This was taken about 4pm today:

And it's still snowing!

I don't think that anything with just two wheels is going anywhere anytime soon.

On the upside, that would make a great Christmas card next year!

We have 11" right now  and  it's  still coming  down...
They claim we  are  to get 20"...

20" counts as snow, no matter where ya live. Sometimes us Yankees forget that folks outside the normal snow zones would be crazy to pay the necessary additional property taxes to have big fleets of snowplows and spreaders parked and ready to be used every other year or three. Up here, there's also a bigger mix of 4WD/AWD vehicles and in real emergencies, plenty of snowmobiles. As mentioned, this too shall pass. One of the saddest things to me up here in WI is how every Spring we get that "one last big snow" and people die driving carelessly or stupidly, only to have bare, dry roads in a day or two.

Believe me - in NC with that kind of snow, stay home unless it is a bona fide emergency (out of food, medical, out of heat with no reasonable expectation of quick restore, etc.)

And today they are getting freezing rain on top of the snow.

Sorry guys, there is another blow off the coast that is due to hit us tomorrow afternoon.  Suppose to have lots of moisture.  So in a couple of days more white/rain for you.

Rode yesterday in 40 degree temps to keep Valk happy (haven't be out for a week or more).  Only about 50 miles.

46 tonite, 70 tomorrow, I'll be riding.
Snark aside, when it snows even a couple of inches here, my road becomes impassable.

The  sun came  out..
Had  a nice  melt down...
Instead  of  knee deep it's  shin deep now..

Tazewell didn't  get as  much as  we  did on the  mountain..
Heck down by the  mail box, only got 12"

Highbinder  took the  big snow blower down the  drive way  yesterday and  today.

LadyD, I’m having a flashback of the first post I read of yours.
It was 07-08 ish and you posted pics of you & HB snow blowing tons of snow to get to the horses you needed to feed. Pretty sure it was on a Darkside site. Smoking Joe was the first guy I followed to see if he crashed and burned because of a CT.
Happy to say he’s still Darksiding. And I’m set to install my 5th CT between 2 bikes.

Also thanks for the calendar pics every month!

Never seen over an 18 inch snowfall and the one time in early 1990s we had that big 18 inch snowstorm, was not too bad besides doing three 360 degree revolutions in my old 1978 buick skylark doing about 40 mph, that was fun - NOT.  No idea how I stayed ON the road got lucky but going rest of the way home had limited use of brakes.  I hit a snowdrift unable to see near white out conditions when a snowplow must have gone ahead of me and left a HUGE 3-4 foot pile of snow on the road hitting it doing around 40 mph then came the spinarounds soon after the POOF of snow above the car.  Do that to a car made today vs. steel bumpers, etc. in the 70s and will take out the entire front end made of plastic.   I made it into work ONLY 15 minutes late when I drove the furthest to get to work when 75% of the office stayed home.  Rear wheel drive cars are FUN in the snow bottoming out dozens of times just trying to keep going steady 40 mph or so as to not loose momentum to make it up the rural road hills???

We had 35" back in 04 a couple days before christmas. We were on a job site working in t shirts when the owner called and told our foreman to get everyone home that night because it was going to snow a bunch. He sent everyone home except for me and one other guy. We planned on finishing up some things the next morning. That was a big NO. We woke up to 10" already on the ground. We were 2 hours from home, that turned into 7 hours. By the time i got home i was pushing snow with my front bumper of my jeep. It was even lifted 4" and was still pushing snow. Only place i almost got stuck was in my parents driveway. I miss that kind of snow, thanks global warming.  Evil

Yuppers  we  had gotten 132" of  snow back in '09 I think..
Then in '10 it was  98" ...

Heck last year we  got all our  snow  in March/April

You are  very welcome  for  the  desktops  each month... angel

On a side  note  we  got  52" of  snow  last year and  90% came  from March and  April
