About once a week I'll whip up some cackleberries(eggs) for my wife and I. It's an easy meal to fix for her, she only wants one scrambled and one piece of toast. For my b'fast which I fix separate, I'll usually throw at least two in the pan, add some grated cheddar and some oatmeal, then scramble them with a fork. Most people I've found will beat them up in a bowl first and it comes out looking like an omelet without any fixins added. To me that's not scrambled eggs. Anyway, since I'm the author of this nonsense it allowed me to digress. The reason for the post is....am I in for some good luck. When I broke the first egg in the pan, to my surprise it was a double yolk. Hadn't seen one in years and showed it to my wife. Then decided since I already had two eggs out already I went ahead and broke the second one into the pan. Lo and behold....it too was a double yolk. Really, I'm not "yolking"......sorry! So, with four embryos being stirred up in the pan along with cheese and oatmeal(extra protein), two toast, two bacon and two cups of coffee, I decided to not check either glucose or BP. Now back to the original question; do I now have a shot at some good luck or high cholesterol....or both? Just for information purposes, my total cholesterol is right around 100, HDL 41 on a good day, LDL well below desired limits. Guess I'll go buy some more eggs when I go shopping this afternoon, I can always use a little luck.....preferably the good kind.

Double yolks no doubt due to climate change.

John, if you'll eat your breakfast sitting on the floor all these worries are unneeded. A low cholesterol breakfast won't hurt anyone.

...and on a serious note...science now says dietary cholesterol has very little impact on blood cholesterol...(except trans fats, they suck, but have been eliminated from foods here in America) Since most "low fat" foods are mostly carbohydrate, well, the soaring rates of obesity and diabetes speak for themselves. Nothing bad for you in that breakfast of yours...though I'm uncertain about actually scrambling the oatmeal in the eggs...pretty sure that's a serious violation of some rule or other Here's what happened when I quit paying attention to the guidelines:

Well John you tell me. 3 Large eggs bout 1/3 lb pork sausage-very little grease-fresh ground pepper some sea salt 22 grain bread slathered with real butter some fresh diced red onions and my third cup of coffee with breakfast and a fourth cup fer desert. Oh-had raw honey-bout a tea spoonful-in the first cup of coffee. And fer comparison my coffee cup of choice is the one from the Honda dealer in Canada that da prez got for me. I get 4 of those cups full from my 14 cup maker. And fer supper big hunk of ham that I'm gonna broil and serve with a salad and most likely wash down with a Heineken. RIDE SAFE.

AMEN! OK Daniel....for comparison with an 80 yr. old: BP the same Glucose is high: 153 Total cholesterol: 111 Triglycerides: 80 HDL: 41 been low my whole life...so far LDL: 59 Pulse: 48 resting, 55-60 otherwise VLDL: don't know what that is Chol/HDL ratio: 3.1 The A1c is high due to the average glucose reading. My primary is constantly on my case about the sugar thing and tells me the HDL is too low. So, two things out of the entire list he doesn't like....tough. I tell him man cannot live on cardboard and water which is what it would take. Strangely enough, with the exception of the glucose readings, the rest haven't changed as long as I can remember....or cared. I do take small doses of meds to keep the old ticker from overworking when I exert myself exercising, etc.(3.125mg), a precaution following the near death episode in 2012. But my entire life I've had those same figures for BP and pulse.

sure beats like I do eating over 1/2 of a 1lb. pkg of bacon for breakfast... And wonder why my trygliceride level a few years back was OVER 400 and should be under 200... oops! 2 weeks from now my kid and I might order from Milwaukee Burger restaurant an 8 patty burger with all the fixins on it and if eaten under 30 minutes, get free t-shirt - yippee!!!! I figure is only 16 bucks vs. the normal 10 dollar fare, but instead of 1 burger, you get 8 (although am sure tad bit smaller each one in size) for only 6 bucks more per meal. Good deal if it does not kill me first.....

After a bunch of BS it's now determined that eggs don't add to problems with cholesterol.
Fat isn't the enemy either, Carbs are.
Bread, pasta, sugar, etc are not good in large quantities.
Nuts, especially pistachios, are good for lowering cholesterol.
I can't quote my three page blood tests from the VA but everything is in limits, 120 on cholesterol.
Most of these erroneous studies were done by persons probably younger than me who have since departed.
At almost 91, I'll continue as I've done. Word of advice. Stay away from Docs if you can, especially younger ones. They all practice mdecine

Word of advice. Stay away from Docs if you can, especially younger ones. They all practice medicine. Truer words were never spoken! Remember when milk was bad? remember when pork was bad? remember when red meat was bad? remember when eggs were bad? remember when ..........? I have lived with this this in mind, Eat and drink all things in moderation. Now, I have strayed now and then and eaten like a pig, but all in all, be smart, don't overdue anything. For the most part, I have been healthy for my 70 years. I don't take any medications for anything, try to be reasonable with my eating and drinking habits. If there is one thing I miserably fail at, it's drinking water. I have to work at that. I have been blessed indeed
