Ok my buddy and I are booked in Berrys Motel and Cabins, got a two bed cabin for $80...gave me $5 off because we are on motorcycles .
I was told its only a block or two from ground zero...now I am all excited to ride.
Fazer as it gets closer maybe we can talk and meet up with your group to ride up together.

See u all in August, we are kind of winging it with rooms booked for a few days while u guy's are up there. We found some rooms not far from ground zero, so hopefully we can hook up with u guy's maybe jump in on a few rides, then we are heading out and doing our own thing as we will be gone for a few weeks.

WOW! This is turning out to be quite a gathering!!! It may be that we'll have to throw an extra pair or two of drawers on the fire...      Heck, this might even turn-out to be the largest audience to ever witness Skin's dance...  Really looking forward to this one!!!

been registered on the site since buying my valk but don't post much.

me and a buddy with a 2014 Valkyrie are interested in this ride if a couple newbies are welcome to the group!!  all tentative as I just jumped on here and found out about it like 3 hours ago, but thinking riding part way Thursday after work to like green bay.  then the rest Friday morning nice and leisurely around the lake.  probably be staying at one of the campgrounds if all motels are booked.  cabin would be nice so don't have to haul camping gear.  ok enough rambling about initial trip thoughts.

anyone else from wisconsin or going through wisconsin have any ride plans to get there?  we are south central wi....between janesville and madison.

you referring to the 'meet in the middle' ride july 20th?  Don and Barb sent me a email about that. thought about doing that as well but might have a schedule conflict.  first weekend in august is the wisconsin Moto Guzzi rally that I have been going to for many years by mineral point/belmont area.  family friendly and a great time there and I have never owned a Guzzi so all are welcome!!  300 people and only 2 valks is not enough..LOL

So far out right now, I don't have a clue where I might be or even in which part of the country! I'm in FL at the moment, but I'm already experiencing itchy feet and ALI is starting to give me that hopeful, longing look each time I glance over at her... We'll just have to see how all of this plays out... Looking forward to swapping a yarn or two with ya!!!

Would be great to know who all is going.   Although I have some significant things going on during this time frame, I am still planning on attending.   Too many of my friends going to miss this one.

I never remember any Valkyrie events or group rides that were Valks only? We are riding up and we have someone on a BMW.

I also have a buddy riding with me on his Harley....all the Valkyrie gatherings I've been to have included all bikes....one of the reasons I like our group, we don't really discriminate against what others ride....for the mot part

Time is getting close and some of us Florida guys are looking forward to it.

Traffic Update:

I-75 construction north of Detroit, avoid if possible.

Alternate route US-23 is ok, but many of my weekend rides involve parts of M-52 which goes from the state line to Bay City. 52 is a good motorcycle road. North of Bay City, take 13/23 along Michigan's scenic east coast along Lake Huron.
Pinconning / Standish area has affordable nice old motels (think of Maggie Valley mid century retro...) and Newberry is easily reachable.

Tunnel of Trees and the beautiful MI west coast is accessible via I-75  from Standish area also.

sounds like a good time and great scenery.  looking forward to the posts and pics later in August for we are taking 1 week off work finally for like forever it seems like 2nd week in September to go ATVing in northern WI, see waterfalls, for say 3 days worth,  then heading on over to Pictured rock lakeshore a few hours east to see that area along Lake Superior for a couple of days of sightseeing.

M52 (Ohio 109 near Wauseon) will get you there, too, a lot of sections are nice but be sure to check for construction and traffic. I've ridden the section between US12 & I96 a few times this month and it has grooved pavement that makes my bike swim, so I personally would take an alternate 

When you get to US12, on the south east corner is Artesian Wells, a popular motorcycle destination that used to be a stage coach stop with healing waters. They have a shelf inside that rings the dining room with a bunch of vintage bikes, including a Honda straight 6, they have good chow too
