I had a real close call with a pedestrian.  He just stepped off the curb right in front of me, and not in a cross walk.  I was not going fast, but still had to squawk the brakes, and he may have sh!t himself, and he got real mad and yelled at me (fear does that).   He was the one at fault.... behaving just like a squirrel.

English was not his first language (same as squirrels).

I am not sure how many small creatures I have squished under tires. I know raccoon, possum, skunk, squirrels, rabbits, Etc have all been victims of my two tires. I may have ended it cats life prematurely but it ran off so I am not sure. Among the feathered variety of creatures I have had the fairing taken off of one bike by a turkey and some sort of Meadowlark hit me just above my boot once. I could have sworn that Meadowlark broke my leg. Invertebrate creatures don't count but love bugs suck. I was once in a swarm of mayflies along the Mississippi River that were just as bad. It was like riding on a sheet of ice. A buffalo in Wind Song National Park definitely got my attention since it seemed intent on joining me on the bike. That may be the only time I have deliberately laid down a bike and hidden behind a cage. Fortunately, the buffalo seemed to lose interest once the motor quit running. So far I have been lucky to not hit large creatures like forest rats although there have been a few close calls. Last fall I had a close call with a large coyote.

If it is native to the US, I have either had a close call or hit it (with a few exceptions of course).   It easier to name what I haven't had a close encounter with than to name those I have.

Several possums and raccoons, a couple of them with my footpegs/boots.  Several ground squirrels. 5 or 6 birds have bounced off my bike, knees and shins. One bat left a greasy spot on my windshield. One hummingbird found wedged under my headlight. One giant moth to the windpipe at speed years ago is the reason I use a windshield now.

I get stung while riding every year, and got it five times from the same wasp careaning around in my bibs two years ago. Have run over several snakes, one long snake which tried to bite my buddy riding behind me after I ran over it.

Came within inches of being run down (walked down) by a "head swinging"male buffalo in Yellowstone, while stuck in traffic, that scared me! He wanted through and I was the path of least resistance. I got close enough to the vehicle ahead of me for the bull to pass between me and the car behind me, but just barely. He was close!

Never hit a deer, dog or horse thankfully but have come close to all three.

A previously hit dead cow at 4 a.m. on I-635 in S.E. Dallas...fortunately I had decided to take the car at that early hour to avoid the possible drunks heading to Ft Worth to go fishing with my brother angel

A dead cow in the road would definately be a motocycle stopper!

One of the funniest movies ever, but could probably never be released now. "hey mister-you can't park there!"

1 crow...2 wood chucks, (those are fun) 1 dog,  several chipmunks / squirrels,  several small birds,  (they hurt),  probably more but I remember these. If you have never had the pleasure of having a bee in your helmet, arm pit or up your pant leg, that's an experience all in itself.
