Looks like Honda is bringing back the Rune. Sorry if this is old news. I just saw it.

I hadn't seen it either Dennis. I'd be surprised though. It seemed the last one sold so slowly, it will be a long time before a new Valkyrie. Looks pretty cool though  cooldude

The Rune was a bike folks either loved or hated.   Never met or spoke to anyone about a Rune that didn't have strong feelings one way or the other.    While I still don't like those side pod radiators, that's a cool looking bike.   Honestly, I "think" I like it better than the F6b.   Opinions will always vary.   Doesn't really matter, I have other priorities that will consume most of my money for the next fifty years or so.   Maybe after those bills are taken care of.   uglystupid2

the old rune looked pretty cool, i liked it, but this one looks to me like its just a new valk with a different front end,, i dont like it and again its just the radiators that are out of place to me.

I'd love to see another Valkyrie, but with the new Wings selling slowly I can't imagine Honda building another version.

Looks like what I'd want it to be... a new Goldwing, stripped down to a naked bike. The new
Goldwing's front suspension seems like it would be pretty awesome... especially if it was
souped up down at Traxxion.

Any new Goldwing riders that read this: what about highway pegs? The only ones I
know about are the Rivco flip-out ones, they are high quality and cool looking and I
hated the ones I had.

I'm sure spec wise it'd be awesome, but if I wanted that much Tupperware on my bike I'd just get a Goldwing...

I never thought about it until I took my 2014 Valkyrie to the Traxxion guys... the tupperware
on the Valkyrie is worse than regular Goldwing tupperware, in terms of having to
work on the bike. Everything on the Valkyrie is "out in the open", and hiding the ugly
stuff (wires and pipes and all that new stuff that old bikes like our 1500 Valkyries don't have)
is really hard and tight on a naked bike.

Anywho... to each his own... I don't like wrap-around dashboards and unibody saddle bags...

It looks like another Valk you can't easily change risers, add windshields, and hard saddlebags with hard guards.

That killed the other new one for me, and this one too.

I can't use a new (naked) bike with none of those on it, no matter how awesome it may be engine/power/handling-wise.

I'm glad they got rid of the pods and went to a center radiator... now where's the other stuff?

I like it but with the current 1800 Valkyrie selling for under $10K makes it hard to imagine they would build another Cruiser that will lose a lot of money.

It'd be a fine bike for sure, but it just doesn't move me (no pun intended). I like the original Valk style, and the next ones just aren't my thing, despite being superior in many ways as far a s the mechanicals. This bike follows that trend 100%.

No doubt, I agree with you.
Unfortunately, Mother Honda recognizes that we are a dying breed and are marketing and designing to a different younger crowd.   Had Mother Honda built a retro-Valkyrie in looks with the improvements of the new more powerful, better handling version, there would be one sitting in my shop waiting on me to ride it.

Not too bad looking but can someone please tell them that exhaust is ridiculous. I thought it looked grotesque on the Rune and this one isn't any better.

I don't know John, isn't that exhaust designed so you can knock over whole long lines of cones (without the tire), where traffic is backup up forever, but there is no work of any kind being done (not even any men in sight)?  Something I have done from time to time, but not lately.  I haven't really grown up, I'm just more aware of cameras.  They sure wouldn't help with hardbags either.

Wait, it still has the side pod radiators, but just smaller ones, with the added big center one?

I agree, too much plastic. That's a solo bike IMHO. Would your bride ride on that seat? Maybe an attempt at the younger generation? Its been said if "liked" it won't be out till 2020, but still some things to iron out like front suspension.

Anybody see an "possible" MSRP? From what I've read guys are wondering how fast it will be? Is the idea of a cruiser to be fast? Or, is it to be smooth, comfortable and dependable? It's being compared to the Wing, BMW and of course the Harley haters group is weighing in. It doesn't look comfortable to me if you want a "cruiser-Tourer" especially for 2 up. To each his own.

When I looked around for "real" pictures of it I couldn't find any.
I doubt a real one exists, at least not one that looks like the above
picture. Side radiators and a front radiator? I guess I think that's
some kind of mash up. I'd guess any new Valkyrie would be like
my 2014... a naked Goldwing... not some whacky-do thing...

I would question the source of that video. I doubt Honda would bring back the Valkyrie. The previous incarnation did not sell well. Dealers are heavily discounting bikes that didn't sell.

The bike shown in the video looks like a Frankenbike conglomeration of the last incarnation of the Valkyrie and the 2018 Wing. The video shows a radiator behind the front wheel like the Rune and also side radiators and accompanying plastic that looks like the 2018 Wing. I don't buy it. We'll see.

new vs old not much changed cool looking but not for me.  if the new handles like to old one it is only good for straight up and down riding handles like crap in the curves.

You sure about that?
I have a friend that rides a Rune and although I have not ridden one myself, all reports and discussions I have been privy to say the Rune will out perform our Valkyrie in the curves.
Again, I don't know, just going by what I have been told and read.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want a Rune, it does not appeal to me stylishly.   Fugly comes to mind.  Wink

I know I'm in the minority here but I love the looks of the Rune and the "New Valkyrie"
I bought a new 98 Tourer heavily discounted I loved that bike so much that I had to have two so I found a used and abused 99 I.S. after a lot work and a paint job I was a happy guy. I was kepting these 2 bikes forever.
A few years later it was time for change.
So I bought a F6B (heavily discounted) wow what a great bike. I was going to kept the IS but I wasn't riding it so I sold it.
Last year I ended up buying a new brand new 2015 Valkyrie (heavily discounted) I was like most of you when they came out I hated that bike but after a few years I started to like the bike. Not as cool looking as the  original Valk. But not too bad.  So again I'm happy with my 2 Tupperware bikes.

I test rode the Rune at the Marysville plant during a Honda Homecoming some years back(also got a trophy for my Valk). Re. the Rune, it handled like a dog at parking lot speeds, hated the front end looks and feel. Might be just me but I'd think the front end on the pictured bike above might handle better, wouldn't take much to beat out the original Rune handling. I'm still hung up on that ugle exhaust, can't imagine what they were thinking on that for the Rune or this "new" (?) Valkyrie.
