I am looking to see if the old timers have a clear picture of the original Valkyrie woman poster. I am getting my tattoo retouched, and they need a clearer image

Can you post an example of what you've got, and I'll see what I can find... There are lots of Valkyrie women images out there, many have been used in reference to our bikes over the years...

Just for ѕhits and grins, here's 24 Valkyrie images from Boris Vallejo I put on my website years ago (in case you haven't seen them).  Link is http://www.horseapple.com/placeholder/file_pages/Vallejo-Valks/vallejo-valks.html

Yeah I know it's not what you asked for but fun to enjoy anyway.

The women in almost all of those artworks are quite scantily clad.  The Valkyrie of legend as a warrior would have been heavily armored.   Wink

Right.  But (un)dressed as they are, maybe their adversaries would lose interest in poking them with a weapon...  Sort of visual armor.

Valkyries weren't really warriors so much as spirits that would choose which warriors were worthy of going to Valhalla instead of Fólkvangr.

Spirits, yes.  Drawing from my youthful reading of Norse legends they were certainly part of Odin's royal guard.  References made to their spears and shields imply armor.  Apparently the Honda Valkyrie creators saw them as female warriors as the Maidenhead is helmeted.   Smiley

...or maybe the Maidenhead represented a fallen warrior that had been deemed worthy by the Valkyries...  Evil

I searched through several hundred pics/paintings/comics/cartoons/renderings of Valkyries (It was a very enjoyable task, I assure you Wink ) but unfortunately wasn't able to find anything like your tattoo... But hoping maybe someone else will recognize it, here's the faded tattoo he's wanting to get touched up, does anyone know where the original image this was inspired from came from?

sliffers, I have been going crazy looking for this because I knew I had that picture someplace. I finally found it tonight in one of my many binders from the old day's when I was in the V.O.A. I think it was from 1998. I had printed it, but only in black and white. The upper left corner reads-Valktoon jpg at www.itsoftware.com which is no longer available. The picture has at the bottom ( B.Ray ). I know this is not much help but it is the best I could do. If you would like, I could send a picture of the page to you through e-mail if you wanted it.

That gal on the left is a spittin' image of a gal that works out in the gym I attend. She always rolls her hair up but it's also long and blonde as in the picture. Also has about the same amount of muscle as the Valkyrie lady and loves to chat with a few of us between sets. Makes my workout so much more enjoyable....and longer!  Roll Eyes  Her workout gear is only a tad more than in the picture, which really gets the youngsters stopping to watch....I'm a youngster.  Grin

Daniel Mayer, who is a pretty talented artist in his own right, had once drawn a great picture of a red dragon riding a Valkyrie
One day maybe 10 years ago, I asked him if I could use it as my avatar on the Voai site and he graciously said sure and for years it was my avatar
Unfortunately the site is kaput and I cant find the pic on my present computer or on the internet
I sure wish I had a copy as it always made me smile
If you ever thought of big bird, that is how I thought of that dragon

So Daniel if you still have it can you post it here so I can save it?

Nice! Looks like Beer's pic is the one the OP was asking for to have his tattoo touched up...
