I wanted to put a feeler out there and see what the interest is in the Meet in the Middle Ride for this year.

I know that the Yooper Ride is very close to this and that it may be hard for some people to do both rides.

This isn't a problem, we've taken a year off from it before (the year that we went to Bedford, PA instead).

We haven't done the ride covering the entire BRP in quite awhile either.

So, I felt obligated to throw that out as an option.

Please, only vote if you were planning on attending and you fully intend to follow through with your vote.

Morning Mark, gotta say any ride you’re running is going to be a good one!
Just got my new hip last week, and if I can manage a long ride, I’ll be there.
Since I can’t 100% commit at this point, you’re welcome to discount my vote, but I sure want to make it.

Mark,

I've made many of those rides, and I've always enjoyed them! No idea at the moment whether or not I might make another of those this year... you know how it is with me... Hope the tradition continues, though, and returning to Sparta or any variations experimented with would be fine with this unpredictable rider/attendee...

Mark, what days are you talking?

Labor Day Weekend,  wich is Aug 30- Sep 2 this year.

A complete BRP ride for me  would be , meet-up in Waynesboro, VA on Aug 30th and hit the BRP on Saturday morning with a goal of getting close to the halfway point before stopping for the night.

Then riding the rest of the BRP on Sunday.

For me, I'd spend the night in Pigeon Forge, TN and head home on Monday.

The Sparta option is everybody riding in on their own on Friday.

One or several group rides on Saturday and head home on Sunday.

It sounds like a good ride, but I'm only a possible Mark, sorry.

That is the time I head up to my (few remaining) family in MI (as in years' past).

This heat is kicking my old ass.  Yesterday, a giant wind (with a storm) came up and ripped the entire top out of my neighbor's tree, and blew the dang thing over into my back yard.  Think a metric ton of wood (up to 12" diameter).  Ripped up my scape/fence pretty good.  He and I spent all morning cutting and dragging.  I had to quit to avoid the heart attack feeling I was having.  Try again tomorrow.

Funny how the things that scare some people dont scare others  angel   Wet twisty roads scare me, going up in a 80 yr old plane makes me happy, jumping out would stop my heart mid beat

I have to admit that I was hoping for a little more feedback on this.

I hate to call off a ride if there are enough people wanting to attend.

So, please weigh in on this............ or I could start a political thread.   angel  Evil

Hi Mark,

We really enjoy this ride.  It has had issues this year and last with some competition with the National GWRRA WingDing Rally being in Knoxville and Nashville, TN.  With going to Gig's U.P. ride and going to WingDing in Nashville, we will not be able to fit it in this year.  We would be very interested again in 2020.  We like the Sparta location being so close to the Snake, last 30 miles of RT58, BRP, and the Back of the Dragon RT16.  Hard to find that many good roads from one location in VA.

Mark, I believe Jane and I have been to most, if not all of the MIM rides and will continue to do so.. We have reservations in Sparta, I believe most who were there last year made reservations for this year. I'm sure the evil twins did. Our vote is to continue as is. and meet in Sparta. Keep us posted on what's happening.

Looks like we have a dozen or so that are interested.

So, for those that are interested in coming to Sparta, NC for Labor Day Weekend this year,

I'll see you there!
