I have been eyeing this ride for about a month, hopefully this time next week I will be the proud owner of a Black 2001 Valkyrie standard, clean as a whistle and only 14,500 miles, I feel like a 60 yo kid. I've wanted one since they came out but never had the funds or the opportunity, if it goes down you'll be seeing me around the site.

I vaguely remember being a young kid of 60. Oh for the good old days. Good luck on the purchase. Posting your town, state might help you find local buddies.

Something to check into, stain where the head meets the cylinder: Negotiating point, dent in the fender:

What's the tire dates?
Is it possible the bike is on the second spin of the odometer?
Bike does look good.

My Valk, at less than 90,000 miles, has dull chrome on the front surfaces behind the front tire, e.g. the timing belt cover and the engine guards. The chrome on this bike is nice and shiny, like it should be with less than 15,000 miles on it. I don't think the odometer has wrapped. A sweet ride!

Good luck on your purchase! Bike looks good. I believe the miles, too. Memphis Shades Batwing and recurve windshield, National Cycle light bar, Palladin(?) luggage rack, soft bags. You'll be ready to go! The defect on the rear fender was likely caused by a license plate backer that extends below the plate with room for an inspection sticker or message. It can also be hidden by one.
