InZane XX... edited with DATES.

We're very close to nailing down the hotel for InZane XX.

For our Serkle-drawing friend, he and his spawn will be riding further than they did for IZ XIX, but less than they would have, had they attended IZ XVI.

By the way, these mileages are not as the crow flies.  They do, however, assume the quickest routes, per Google Maps.

Oops, I forgot to include the dates.

Out of the states within the "Serkle," AL, GA, FL, SC, PA, IN, and IL have never had an InZane.

Northern Alabama, central-to N Georgia, W South Carolina, W Pennsylvania, and S Indiana seems like would be pretty nice!  Although not in the Serkle, Missouri would be nice too.

- Leeds, Alabama has a Motorsports Museum that looks pretty cool

I think if you find somewhere that's got good, fun roads and other sites to see, and then post some of the highlights of what else is around to do besides riding all day would bring in more people... hopefully.

Just my unsolicited opinion --- but also willing to help with some of the research if desired.

I fully intend to be at InZane XX, wherever it's at --- kitchen pass is already stamped!  :)

Going back to an earlier clue (North of 30.355210), most of Florida was already excluded.

Isn't there also something about legal carry? Not knowing the laws, so don't have a clue as which ones would be either included or excluded in the above.  I just know it won't be Canada.

I figure somewhere near the center of the "Serkle"(Kentucky or thereabouts) but the Charlotte area can't be counted out. Forget anything south of northern Ga. in June, just too hot. By June you're getting temps in the 90's...actually by end of May usually. Need to stay in the hill/moutain country. Looking forward to a good extended ride by then, haven't had one in years.

Likewise, however....the first thing you'll notice is I'm nothing special and don't claim to be. When stood beside many other members, I would come away wanting. I am looking forward to meeting you and many other good folk that I've only come to know via this board but not in person. I hope I get to correct that next summer.  :cooldude:

Going by your map, PA wouldn't be in the running, it's further from any spot in PA that I've tested than it is from my house to Morgantown, WV.

Yup... Apologies the graphic was rather crudely done, but by the parameters given:

Quote from: f6gal on Fri 16, Aug 2019, 13:03:37
For our Serkle-drawing friend, he and his spawn will be riding further than they did for IZ XIX, but less than they would have, had they attended IZ XVI.

From Rowlett, TX to Morgantown, WV would be the maximum distance from Rowlett possible...

The Serkle does have a very small corner of SW PA; however, I don't think there is a hotel in that small corner.  The closest hotels appear to be in Waynesburg... which is outside the given mileage parameter.

Additionally the graphic of the Serkle is a bit misleading as it is based upon direct distance rather than road (riding) distance.  I'm pretty sure Pennsylvania is completely excluded from the true Serkle.

No, Serk roughly calculated riding distance (as did I).
Freeport, PA is 10 miles closer to Rowlett than is Morgantown.  But, as I said, there are no hotels there.  So, obviously, with that bit of information, PA is essentially excluded.

Oops.  Apparently not.  Freeport is not within the Serkle graphic and Pittsburgh is closer to Rowlett than is Freeport.  If Brian had used road distance the line would not be smooth.

It's a good representation, though, and it appears the top locations being considered all al within the graphic.   ;)

Since the tool that I used previously that plots a circle based on road distance is no longer available I did a hybrid, eyeballing it as best as I could based on a few spot road distances. It's not perfect by any means...
