Whatever.  The number of COVID cases from the maskless Trump administration is climbing daily and still you can't see.  I'm done trying to show you what you refuse to see.  Go ahead and embrace stupidity, see if I care.
. See that works both ways we try to get you to see what we see. And when you present you are portraying yourself as the all knowing. The word of the almighty Alien when he speaks it is the only truth and nothing else is excepted. Yes I do focus on your approach. I mentioned I felt that Covid is real, maybe it will find me, maybe I do well maybe I don't. I am careful I am mindful I simply do not see that the mask is needed like Sweden.

Ok.  I see where you're coming from but let me ask you this.  If I have COVID-19 and am coughing, etc, but I, for whatever reason, go to the grocerey store to get needed supplies while you happen to be there, would you prefer that I be wearing a mask as I'm passing you in the aisle?

I don't think anyone would disagree that if you know you're sick, you should mask up for the protection of others.  The thing is, you can have this virus and transmit it without knowing you're sick.

That's why the CDC and almost every doctor reccommend that everyone wear them.

They never really quantify that statement IMO.

IMO, YO is wrong.  They went into detail on both herd immunity and weak vaccines.  Back to the herd immunity pipe dream.

10% Of Global Population May Have Contracted The Coronavirus, WHO Says

https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/10/05/920453483/10-of-global-population-may-have-contracted-the-coronavirus-who-says

It's an estimate that's far higher than the total of global confirmed cases reported by governments. At the same time, it would mean that most of the world's population is still vulnerable to getting infected and this pandemic is far from over, the WHO's head of emergencies Dr. Michael Ryan said Monday.

"This varies by country, it varies urban to rural, it varies by different groups," Ryan said. "But what it does mean is that the vast majority of the world remains at risk."

Well you can continue to believe what you wish. Regarding "herd immunity " IMO it will be effective it just takes a while.

As for the WHO article I just posted that info as well. Apparently there is no great or imminent danger to society.

IF anyone catches this they have at minimum over a 95% chance of living. That's a FACT that cannot be denied at this time, unlike whether the wearing of masks is in FACT effective in the prevention of spreading.

Paris initiated that over a month ago and their numbers are still going up.

It's time to try something different.

Open the country up at 100% for 90 days and see where that leads us.

It's been about a week since Florida removed restrictions and I haven't heard any terrible.

We'll need another couple weeks to see for sure how bad if bad at all numbers will get.

Reading further than the first sentence and seeing the graph as well as learning only 143 people we're used in the study tellls a lot more....some people will have adverse effects but it's uncertain how long they will last.

"With Covid there seem to be more far-reaching symptoms and the number of people seems to be much greater," says Prof Brightling.

The emphasis though is on the word "seems" as until we have a true picture of how many people have been infected we won't know exactly how common these symptoms are, he says.

He told the BBC: "The uniqueness of the way the virus attacks the host and the different ways it then alters the way cells behave seem to be both giving people more severe infection than other viruses and persistent symptoms."

Really, moral rights? I have zero moral obligation to protect anyone.

This mask thing is all about power, the power to control. If you choose to wear a mask because you feel a moral responsibility or obligation to the whole of mankind, then from this day forward you are obligated to wear a mask anytime you have a sniffle, sneeze, cough or any other respiratory issue whether you are allergic or sick, there is no choosing. If you say you are now in favor of wearing a mask everywhere you go, then own it. Wear your mask until you can no longer be a possible spreader of the common cold, the flu or Covid, after all you have a moral obligation to all of humanity because anyone you come in contact with may pass a germ onto a person who may get sick or die.

I wish our planned six week trip to Norway and Sweden in August was not cancelled. I would especially like to observe their practices first hand.

Reports show China is at 90,660 cases with 4,739 deaths.

Still amazing for a country with a population of 1.39 BILLION!

The emperor has no clothes

I think it's a given we can ignore numbers from China, Russia, and a few others. There are plenty of reliable countries to be compared to.

You see no value in seeing numbers reported that make no logical sense? Oh well.

Which country/countries could be compared to the USA?

Shame you don't consider the uniqueness and exceptionalism of the US since I don't know of many if any other countries that offer a good comparison.

Yep.  The globally reported numbers, both infections and deaths, are low.  No dobt some countries are a bit more - - shall we say - - straightforward in their reporting.

I am not taking the side of China here, just playing devil's advocate;

Maybe China is only reporting deaths of those who actually died from Covid, no underlying conditions involved or investigated just plain and simple deaths from C-19. Eliminating all deaths of the sickly or elderly.

More on masks; I won't lie there's some reading here so if you're really interested then by all means read on.

If you don't want to read it or are opposed to something that is not what's being told to you on TV or by your state government, Twitter, Facebook, TV commercials, or any other media outlet then that's your prerogative.

If you do read these, anything underlined in red is a link.

All the info there is verifiable.

I read through it all, looked into what what said and how it was said.

At least someone is out there looking into all the science and reading through want being said.

There's lots of reporting in those links, read them and research them yourself. I'm wouldn't have posted them to make myself look foolish.

Oh, I looked over the articles.  Mr. Horse wits is Beck's go to anti mask guy.

Why is it that an opposite opinion with the ability to read further into of why an opinion was formed is met with animosity.

Within each article are the reasons (links) the writer concluded and continues to conclude masks are pretty much useless.

The link I provided form Rational Ground provided simple, easy to read graphs of how countries with mandated mask protocols has failed and failed hard while the country of 9+ million of Sweden has had no issues in months and their neighboring countries are increasing.

Back on August 14, Norway initiated a new policy on masks, their numbers have increased every day since that new policy.

https://www.voanews.com/covid-19-pandemic/norway-makes-first-face-mask-recommendation-pandemic-began

The good thing is their most important number is low, their death rate is in the single digits, again proving this is not as deadly as they say, it just sucks to get it.

This shows the increase in cases as well as deaths.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/norway/

Time and time again the protocol of masks comes up and those who try to relay the message of the low effectiveness of masks is dismissed because it doesn't sound right.

Just in the one article above there was an extrapolated comparison of the size of the virus to masks to that of a pickup truck to a 1+ mile wide tunnel.

The truth about this virus is, it's not that terrible.

There is no need for mask mandates or eve their effectiveness.

The media and politics cannot suddenly change course and backtrack well knowing these are the real facts.

Too many times now figures in the media and politics have been caught out in public not social distancing and not wearing masks while they continue to preach the necessity of such.

I won't call the virus a hoax because people do get sick and some die. This has been the biggest political weapon ever and we are all being held hostage for their political gain and manipulation of society.

The evidence is gradually coming to light except it's a month or so too late for this election.

No animosity whatsoever Mike.  Just disagreement.

Face masks: what the data say
The science supports that face coverings are saving lives during the coronavirus pandemic, and yet the debate trundles on. How much evidence is enough?

https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-02801-8

I've said all along that I do not support mandates of any kind, and that folks shold be allowed to go about their lives responsibly.  I've worn masks when required to in crowds and businesses.  Otherwise I dont.  I've seen folks who flat out refuse to mask up where "required" to on several occasions now.  Maybe they just couldn't read the posted signs, I don't know.  I havent said or done a thing about it other than maybe shake my head.  If Safeway isn't gonna do anything to enforce their policy, I'm sure not gonna make it my mission to do so.

One thing I know we agree on.  I hope "we" win this upcoming election.  I've said C-19 is not a political topic for me. Unlike many Americans, coronavirus isn't even a top ten issue for me when it comes to my vote.  There are many things that I consider far more important to the continuation of our great Republc.
