Part 17309-MZ0-000 is not made/available anymore. I am having a very hard time finding bulk high temp rated coolant tubing with the 5-6mm ID. I think 1/4" might be a bit too large?

I found some used ones but....well, they are used.

Does anyone know where I can get bulk radiator tubing with the correct inside diameter?

you can order soft or hard tubing for water threw Mcmaster-carr, they have standard or metric.
you can also get almost any color you want.

I would take the hose to NAPA autoparts and have them match it up. Simple, cheap and you can do it today... and you could even take the overflow tank with you to try out...

I just replaced the radiator overflow with a Gates hose they had there -- no sweat...  :cooldude:

I'm not paying OEM prices for common automotive hoses that I can get local at far cheaper prices.

Thanks, I tried that. Nobody local had  .25" ID hose and the stuff at Home Depot is rated at max 175-220 F ... which is too close to the actual running temp.

I got the McMaster delivered in 2 days...

Thanks. Those 2 are actually different hoses. The one they sell in bulk is the breather hose and judging from the original old hoses that were on the bike, the breather is smaller OD and has a thinner wall (I assume not rated for the same temperature and/or pressure as the syphon hose). All good though, I got a different hose and its already on the bike.

Remember the Gates P/N for the hose you bought?

On the hose it says 3270 Safety Stripe Heater Hose. I checked the Gates online catalog and couldn't find that exact number, but the specs for the Gates Safety Stripe hose go -40 F to +257.
And just comparing to the stock hose, it's a far better product.

I second the NAPA comment. I've worked on some old cars and some how NAPA always has the hose I need, rated for what I need it for. Bring the piece in and they try to find one or at least something that will work right.
