Speakers
fudgie:
Gonna buy some speakers for the bike. Tired of using head phones. So what do you all run? Pros and cons of each. Looked at Honda's new set up but to pricey. Only want to spend a max of $300. :-X

I've not owned any speakers but I use headphones. I worked on a friend's bike with one bad speaker. Rumble road powered speakers for his MP3 player. When I removed the speaker from the pod, I was surprised to find a pretty cheap speaker for $300. After 4-5 returns to RR, they finally found the problem and sent a replacement that worked right. As cheap as that speaker was, I'll stick with Sony noise cancelling headphones.

Before I got my Interstate, I had a standard and I used a set up from 2wheeltunes.

I was 300.00 back when I got it, but it runs around $300.00.
I never had a problem over 3 years and it was a nice set up and I could hear my iPod up to 75-80mph.
Just my .02

Hey fudgie,
I have a pair of marine, (boat) speakers I took off. Am willing to part with them if you're interested.
They worked good when I had them mounted. Removed the stereo and don't need the speakers any longer.

I have this on my valk. It is a good set up, loud enough to be heard at freeway speeds. The amp will fit under the seat if you attach it to the battery cover.
