The Yooper Event 2021 is returning to Newberry, MI. July 30 - 31, 2021.
Rooms won't last long, you can book now:
Evening Star Motel
Newberry, MI

Say "GiG Up North" July 30 – 31, 2021. Rooms range from $62 to $84 depending.
We have also reserved the other Motel on the same property, same PH #, same owner.
There was a full house at Ground Zero last year, in spite of government sanctions. We spoke to the Motel owners, and there are only a few rooms remaining for our 2021 event. LuLu has a list of folks that asked for her to book a room, and she did. It might be a good idea to call the Motel and confirm your confirmations.
When these rooms fill up, there are other Motels in this small town, so come join us.
There are rumors of food availability on-site again.
Looking forward to more Summer riding in Michigan's Upper Peninsula!

We had a great ride up last year, taking the Western Route. That is 22 up through Northport then back down to Traverse City. We did hit a lot traffic in TC and construction delays, but what a great ride. How could anyone imagine a town named Petoskey could be so beautiful? We hit the Bridge at the wrong time also. Took a good 40 minutes to cross.
This year I am thinking 75 (23 around Detroit) up to Bay City then 13 to 23 up the East side of Michigan. Should be some nice views of Lake Huron. Greg: Yes, Traverse City and Petosky are very nice, but watch out for traffic because it is a popular tourist area. I-75 in Detroit should be avoided for several reasons, but as long as you are going west to hit 23, just a little further west is M-52 - much nicer relaxed riding, and it ends up at 13 / 23 at Saginaw. At Toledo, take 20 west along state line to 52 north (cr109 in ohio). There are some traffic lights at the bottom of 13, but you will clear those quickly and 23 along Lake Huron is very nice. Less traffic than the west side and very scenic (a lot of Chicago drivers on the west side of the state...). Prolly should check construction on 23 up there too, a piece of road got washed out by the lake last year. |

I just might make it this year....is that tall cousin of yours coming.....I’m in the mood for a slow dance. But I am concerned about possibly rooming with a guy with a set of play dough boobs on his fore head. Additionally I have concerns about a host who has been band from certain Michigan cities. Also I’m a little concerned about traveling across the Michigan boarder after being allegedly involved in the Governors failed kidnapping attempt. She sure can keep a grudge!

I called and made a reservation just awhile ago, so for now it appears I'll be making the trek up there after all... Of course, if Rosie cancels I can't guarantee I'll still be coming... Nah, just kidding... Had a blast last year, and that combined with the roaring case of cabin fever I've acquired lately have me all ready to head that way today! Naturally I'll be looking for some better weather before I make the turn in that direction, but it is on my mind now... Be advised...
