Prominent Landmarks

I'm wondering which prominent landmark most often appears behind VRCC members' bikes (not counting large group rides).

This is my entry.

I no longer have that bike, so I'll have to speak in the past tense.

I bought it at a salvage yard for $20 (Stock Interstate).  My lovely wife and I cut it down using a jigsaw with a metal cutting blade at slow speed.

I started taller and worked my way down.  I found that about eight inches above the garnish worked best for me.  I never was able to completely rid it of the buffeting from air coming around the fairing.

I should tell you that I ride without a screen on my Standard.

Good spot, Jack.  I've enjoyed that spot, but it was because of the people and the event rather than for the location.   

I think I may have some shots there also, Wayne, but I'm betting I would never have gone there but for the people and event.   

I wonder how many pics there are in front of the Key West marker.  I haven't been there.  How many others have a Devil's Tower shot?  Or a Rushmore shot?

Another Key West............




Residential in Rapid City.    When they had the big flood a few years back, this indentation was 250' wide and full of water.  The one where the road goes through.

Shame nice looking bike....I am searching for a new windshield for my I/S and being 6'4" am worried about buffeting...Not so bad with the oem...should probably stay with that set up...but I love the look of the short shield...

I rented a Road king for one weekend, and the Texans felt so sorry for me that they had to provide a motorcycle for me.
The choice was very easy, and color was not an issue in this case. Harley or Valkyrie?

I got asked if I was afraid of the traffic in Houston because I was shaking while riding the Road King...  It was a good massage
