OK, Im still waiting on the timing cover and left crash bar, but all the rest of the restoration is complete.  The main areas that took the hit were the windshild...handlebar and right side controls...and the right side of the engine (valve cover,crash bar and hiway peg)  Id say it was a successful operation:

Took the new old gal for a test ride.  Been two weeks since the fateful day, so thats not bad.  All went well, the new grips are awesome.  Feels like a new bike.  Also, I think new chrome adds horse power, doesnt it?

Lookin good.  Bright new chrome and nice new grips.....  should at least have a .5hp gain

LOL.....thanks Steve, that is a big compliment.  cleaning is very important, but nothing beats NEW CHROME!!!!!!!!   Im still amazed that a 700and sumpthin # bike can be thrown to the ground and slide in gravel and not mess up one tin!  There is one new hair sized scratch in the paint on the tank, but I can live with it!

Today was the first day of spring down here after suffering through Wisconsin kind of cold the last couple weeks!  I think I'll have to crank my babe up in the morning.  Glad Judy is coming along and I'm sure she brightens your day like chromium.

I think you will keep that 1% in a safe place just in case you need it later, never can have too much chrome and you may just find something else you need. Lookin good, well better than it did before the crash. Nice job. Heal and ride. HOZ
