UPDATE:   I received a call about Mississippi Spring Fling and was told that some folks waited too long to get the room they wanted at Double Tree by Hilton Ground Zero.    There are still Queen Rooms with two beds available at Double Tree for the same price.

But, I have made arrangements with the facility next door for another 15 rooms.   All with two beds for the same price.   I have posted this message on Face Book also.

The Double Tree by Hilton is booking up fast, was told today that all the "Double Rooms" have been booked but, there are still Queen Rooms (with two beds) available.   I have also arranged for a backup facility for the same price.   I had to do some wiggling and dancing to get this done but, if you don't find the room you want at the Double Tree by Hilton.    To contact the backup facility, read this and please follow the guidance provided.  This is very important to get the price I negotiated.   You must speak to the Operations Manager Amber Ramirez and tell her you want one of the rooms I blocked, this is valid for 15 rooms up to 10 days prior to the event.   Amber's phone is 601-264-9666.    If this doesn't explain it well enough, please message me and I send you my phone number.

Am happy to assist anyone as much as I can to make this a fun event for anyone that wants to come.

Again, I've been advised that some folks wanting a double room at Double Tree by Hilton were told that all the blocked-out double rooms have been taken.   I called and confirmed that is true.

As of today, there were still Queen Rooms with two beds available at the Double Tree by Hilton.

But as a backup, I have negotiated a discounted rate with the facility next door, they are an extended stay facility with two beds per room and a kitchenette but, no restaurant.   See the original post for the edit for the back up facility contact information.   Please follow the guidance provided to get the right discounted price at the backup facility.   You must requests one of the rooms I habe blocked.

If further explanation is necessary, please send me a PM or call me.

Digger,
Can't tell you when folks will arrive but, my assumption is Friday.    Reference itinerary, both Mac and Warlock have agreed that anyone that wants to follow them is welcome but, to be honest, I've been too busy to ask where.   The last couple of years, some folks have broken into smaller groups and have gone to the beach, New Orleans, the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash memorial and other parts unknown.    If those rides follow past year's practice, 0900 will be kick stands up and leaving GZ headed somewhere but, I'm not privy to the destinations.   Honestly, folks go several directions.   I heard some went to Hellfighters in Laurel, MS and spent a lot of time looking at some fine custom bikes there.

I've been working on a Saturday evening meal/get together but, some concerns have been raised about that meal not being within walking distance of GZ.   So far, I have not solved that issue.

The Saturday evening dinner that was planned isn't going to happen, although the Double Tree has a restaurant, it can't handle a group this large and still attend to their other guests.   So, eat where, when and what you wish.   Enjoy all the old and new friends that will be attending.

The Mississippi Spring Fling is advertised as a "Social Event" for two, three wheeled motorcyclists, to renew friendships with previously known fellow bikers and to meet a whole new set of friends.   I hope this answers your questions.

I've also heard rumors that there's some serious tire kick'n, tall tales tell'n and a real possibility there's some drink'n going on but, it's only rumor to my knowledge.

I hate to add something on your plate, but any chance you could list some good beach places that are close and easy access to go dip our toes in the water?

Not big on group ride, mainly going for the socializing and truth telling contest, but a solo trip with Serk Jr. to the beach might be nice if it's not too complicated or too far...

Thanks!

Serk,
I'm not a beach person.   Last time I was in the water at the Gulf, I dove down a ways and when I surfaced I heard someone yell "There She Blows!".  Thought I was gonna get harpooned.

But, I'll ask and see what I can find out.

Edited:  Just asked my future Son In Law and he said this is a fun place to go.

Rode it many times. The road had gotten into pretty bad shape. I will make a run before the get together and see if they have improved the road. Nice curve road, but not fun when you have to dodge pot holes.

Different places to visit and ride. Haven't talked with Crazy Horse about any possible fun runs yet. Some to think about is the Lynyrd Skynyrd run which I did last year and can do it again. Also the Winsor Ruins around Lorman Ms. About a 3 hr ride from Hattiesburg. Also going to check out the Red Buff Road and see if they have made it better. Of course we can also go to the Coast. Willing to do what the group wants to do.

Last time I went to Red Bluff they had it blocked off where you had to park on the side of the road and walk up to see   That's been awhile ago so I don't know if they opened it back up or not again. David if you make a run there let me know when I will try to meet up with you to check it out
Thanks Dennis

I re-looked at the opening post of this thread, didn't see even one stipulation or requirement stating anything except it had been a long winter with distractions and something about deserving a little fun.

Hell yes, your friend is invited.   If you look at the listed attendees, you see several names that may also be pictured on the US Post Office walls.   There are even some folks that ain't all that pretty listed.

Looking forward to seeing both of you.

Edited: Just spoke to Amber at the back up facility, she told me she is receiving reservations but, there  was a bit of confusion about the pricing/breakfast.   Candlewood Suites does not offer a breakfast, Double Tree by Hilton does.   So, expect to eat breakfast at Double Tree which is next door.   Sorry for any confusion, I'm sure I didn't explain it well enough.

Based on requests to have that Saturday evening get together within walking distance of GZ, I simply can't make that happen.   The Double Tree by Hilton has a restaurant open till 2200 hours (that's 10:00 PM for you civilians) that'll have to do but, Double Tree is not able to host a large gathering like this in their restaurant with all the other guests.   They offered to rent me a ball room and have a catered banquet there but, that's beyond my financial reach so, eat where you want and let's kick tires and tell tales in the parking lot.
