Exhaust blueing

(1/1)

chickenman:
On the valk tourer what can cause the # 3 and 5 exhaust pipes to blue and the others don't. What is good to get the blue off the pipes?? Thanks!!!

Rider89:
my .02 would be the carbs aren't adjusted properly then you could be running too lean.
Also, opening the throttle when the choke open excessively would also cause blueing, and excessive idling can casue it.
I've had some success with Blue Away and Blue Job. I'm sure some people have more experience than me, but good luck.

f6john:
Assuming you have the stock pipes, do concentrate on the cause first as it takes a lot of heat to blue the double wall pipes. Are there any signs of problems while riding? I would check the plugs to see how they look now. Burnt valves would be a bummer heading into the riding season.

Big IV:
Sitting around idling needlessly is a main cause of bluing.
