Thoughts and prayers with you sir and your wife.

True words!

I went and got my Mother yesterday and brought her home with me until Monday. I try to do it as often as she feels like it. At 95 you never know when those trips will not be possible. She and my wife are close and they enjoy each other's company too.

Wonderful you wife can be at home with you and family, I hope it gives her and the family great peace and comfort.

Valkorado

So sorry to read this Ross, prayers out for you both from Western Colorado.

Thanks for your great message and reminder.  Sometimes we lose perspective in life...  I know that lately I've let worry kick me around more than I should, and I need to let it go.

We have so much good to be thankful for, and the very best people we've been so blessed just to "be" with.  I know you know this.  Bonnie's gift of unconditional love has made you a better man, and that can never be taken away from you.  It is the greatest, most enduring gift.  Hold on to it, and keep it in your heart.
Have you ever noticed when you're feeling really good,
there's always a pigeon that'll come sh!t on your hood?

I'm very sorry for both your and Bonnie's troubles Ross.

Be as positive and upbeat and happy as you can for her (tough as that is).

Reading to her may be some comfort.

My heart hurts for you.  I have no words to help or comfort.   :'(

So sorry, Ross. I just got 36½ years with my wife. She came home to Hospice in December of 2021. Her birthday and death day was the next month on January 18. As hard as it is, I'm getting through it, I'll never get over it.

so sadden by your news.  Spend as much time as possible with her as you can.

I put my mom on hospice right around her 80th B-day last September held off on doing it probably a little too long with Drs. suggesting to do it few months sooner.  Have nothing but good things to say about hospice care they helped her out a lot more the past few months passing Jan. 3rd this year vs. just assisted living 1 person on staff, which she needed more care but was thinking she would live longer in my head...  Could not fathom her passing no one thinks it is coming until too late.

Makes me and the wife want to retire as soon as possible not waiting until age 60 and above and just say the heck with work and go work part time and just make ends meet.  I know we are not there yet, but pretty certain neither one of us will be working past age 62 full time where we work now anyways.  Makes sense for us to retire age 62 vs. waiting til age 67 or 70.  I know I will not make it to age 80 or more most likely.

@da prez: I send my thoughts and prayers.

Ross old friend, that news makes me tear up. It brings back so many memories as you know. Be with her as much as possible, and let Bonnie know you both are in our thoughts and prayers. My morning prayer when caring for Rita was quite simple; "afford me strength for the day and wisdom for the moment." None of us can face those times alone and do so successfully.  :'(

I know the loss your facing and I know no words can really comfort.  So I will just say even though I only know you through this board that you and your wife will be on my mind and in my prayers.

Ross, you and Bonnie enjoy every minute you have left together.  They will be more precious memories for you to savor.  Peace and Blessings to you both.

I'm hoping for the best for Bonnie as time is passing by. Prayer for Ross too as I sure it's a difficult time. I took time out today to go to see my mother, and my wife and I took her out for lunch because today was her 95th birthday. We had a good time and was talking about all her stuff that she worries about my sister and I having to deal with when she's gone. We told her she should start considering who she would like to have certain things, like 3 grandfather clocks that my Dad built and dozens of ceramic hand painted dolls poured and fired by my Mother and her Sister. And we encouraged her to give them out now not later. Her mother lived to be 99 and all indications are that Mom could make that but who knows?

Just hoping you, Ross and Bonnie are having some good days along with the not so good.

Wolfhound

Ross, your words deeply touched me and my heart goes out to you both.
See ya,
