2024 Collector bikes
gordonv:
With the start of the new year, Mike and I got our collector authorization note, and insured our 1999 IS Valkyries as collector vehicles. This means annual basic insurance of around $250 a year. Such a small amount to be able to ride year round now, affordable enough to keep the insurance on the bike for those nice warm/dry days we get year round.
Now there are only 3 more years before even then youngest Valkyrie can get their discounted plate too.
It means I need to make a little more time to ride in the shoulder seasons, and some short trips in the summer.
Hope to see more of you on the road this year.

Submitted my paperwork a couple of weeks ago. Haven't gotten approval yet but weather way to cold for biking and the roads on the island are white from so much salt put down. It will need a couple of good rains to clean the roads up around here.

Same here. -10C, went up to 0.0 today. My house can barely maintain more than 25'C heating over the current outside temp. I've had to resort to turning on the stove to assist heating. -10C overnight, and I woke up to 16.4C in the house with the heat let on.
Luckily we don't us sand when salting, so like you mentioned, a couple of good rains might clean it all up.
I see notice that we can expect up to 15cm on Wed. I've a flight out to Toronto for work that morning, I hope we make it out before the snow. I haven't listen to the news yet, so don't know the details till working tomorrow and driving around.
