It's that time again.  Thursday at 7:00 somewhere.  The question is, "Where?"

Ideas?  Suggestions?  The all-important headcount?

The weather looks like it will be cold and wet - not so favorable for riding, but great for something spicy and/or heavy!

Supposed to be west side isn't it? Can't guarantee I can make it, but what's better than chili on a cold crappy day?

Forecast looks like a "cage" night.  Where ever we go let's be sure to let them know we are coming.  If I can help set something up just let me know.  I'm biased.  I like the southeast but that makes for a long drive for most folks.  If u wanna come this way we can do the Cotton Gin in Crandall.  Always a favorite, but we might want to save that one for a night when everybody rides.  More convenient for the most folks in the mid-cities area however.
How much fun can I have before I have to go to hell?

Disco

I'm beginning to wonder if we should punt 'til next Thursday when at least the forecast doesn't include frozen stuff.  Anyone?

Relying on the forecast of cold, wet, and frozen + member input, the February Dinner / Meeting regularly scheduled for this Thursday 11 February has been postponed until next Thursday 18 February.

Granted, we are 9 days out, but a forecast high of 70 and sunny beats the stuffing out of a high of 38 with rain and snow.  Should be able to RIDE!

Location is still TBD.

Don't know what happened to my previous post.  I offered to set something up if you'd like.  Thank you for demonstrating your power by this "executive order."  Or you could have just appointed a czar to make those decisions and bypassed all that "election" crap.  Sorry, couldn't resist.

Glad we punted, still not sure that we should not go west or central to be fair.

Hey Doc,

I see two posts from you in this thread.  If a third was attempted, it either didn't get posted correctly or disappeared into the ether.  None of the "officers" have administrative rights and thus can not delete anyone's posts but their own.   :police:

Hey TJ, any amount of wheels is fine by me!  Ridden, driven, pulled, gasoline, electric, dirty, polished, chromed, (even powdercoated  :2funny:   ) it doesn't matter.  Heck, you were there when I pushed a Walkyrie to the meeting in Ft Worth!

If you show up riding a unicycle while carrying a case of Dublin Dr Pepper, I'll buy your dinner.

I'd sure feel better riding that thing with a backrest on it.  Slipping off the seat would be mighty rough.

yes, but it eliminates the need to carry TP with you.. ;)

Only going in reverse.  Going forward, the belt would be coming at you and it would be hitting the fan, so to speak.

I don't think you've got a minority yet.

We're waiting for Czar B.A.D the 1st to tell us where he has voted for us to eat.

Now that he's healed, B.A.D. will have to be B(urgers).A(nd).D(ogs).
And SURELY with that, he can suggest a delicious place for our meeting!
Did I hear something about Tolbert's?!  THAT sounds pretty good to me.
But.  In an attempt to keeping this post semi-politically correct, I must say

... 'that's just my opinion'.

Lucky for all of us, it appears Czar B.A.D (Breaker of All Draws) the First may not be required for this particular issue.  I'm told he remains available to settle all remaining disputes about which color is fastest, though.   :D

The tally so far is Tolbert's 3, Southeast 2.  Majority?  Yes.  Landslide?  Nope.  It's up to everyone as to when the polls close, but my (Dave's) personal opinion is that the ride to Crandall would be better for more folks as a weekend breakfast or lunch ride.  I'm sure there are some in the group who, like me, have never been and want to go.  That said, the knock on Tolbert's is that there is not a room where we can isolate ourselves from the rest of the bar/restaurant AND live music is scheduled to begin at 8:00pm Thursday.  Just picture the oil filter / crush washer / doo rag / pancake spray giveaway over the din of another Free Bird cover...  Saturday meeting in Crandall?  How's that for fence sitting?

So, y'all talk amongst yourselves and come up with a plan.  I'm abstaining because there is a good chance I won't be able to make the dinner meeting Thursday anyway.  While you're at it, be thinking about who wants to lead and where you want to ride this weekend.  The regular schedule says Saturday, but TX Wolfman has a thread working about the Long John Run on Sunday.  The forecast is looking better for the weekend - you could ride both days up here.  Or, you could join me at the Mid-Winter Gathering.

if you want to be able to sit and not have a live band, is there thoughts of bone daddy's? 75 and spring valley? they do have that upstairs area.

Houdini

The last Bone Daddy's meeting had about 30 attendee's; I think it is central for the majority of the local VRC members.
