Just picked up an F6BD 2015
Heathen:
So far I've noticed that the performance is crazy good. Nimble as quicksilver, fast as lightning.
I've also noticed that anything you need to do is a very long, complicated process involving removing layers of plastic pieces and clusters of instruments, almost like rube goldberg had a hand in developing the dammed beast. Ordeal is the best word that comes to mind. Still, it's the only thing out there that I kind of thought of as an upgrade to the Valkyrie. I guess I'll get to work on my patience and my ability to remove panel after panel of plastic fairing without breaking those delicate little plastic clips. I'll need a blessing from the gods to succeed at that.
Feels crazy weird to sit in the bike rather than throw a leg over it and sit ON it. Not 100% sure I like that. It's comfortable, but it doesn't feel "right" since all I've ever piloted in the last 30 years was valkyries!
Jack B:
Yes it takes time to change the air cleaner but just watch a YouTube video and it’s easy to do.
The good news is you didn’t have to do it often.
Changing tires is a lot faster then the Valkyire, front tire is about 10 minutes and rear tire is maybe 5 minutes.
And it rides so good.
Good luck with your new ride.
Heathen:
Thanks!
I still tell myself I'm a Valkyrie guy, the F6BD is like the Goldwing Valkyrie, just with hardbags added...
Heathen:
So, after a few weeks with the bike, I love it. It's awesome.
But
I can't flat foot unless I scooch forward toward the horn of the saddle. Does anyone happen to know if any of the popular aftermarket seats are more narrow than a Corbin Dual Tourer, of they can be made to be narrow by the vendor?
Someone suggested diamond seats, which I had never heard of. Does anyone know if the Ultimate midrider is narrow?
Thanks
Farside:
:cooldude: I love Stinger my F6BD, a 14. I'm 5'11" and bought the bike with a Corbin seat that sat too low for me. I found an Ultimate seat on the Goldwing-F6B forum bought it and sold my Corbin. The Corbin was too hard as well for me but I love my Ultimate. I have one on my 98 Valkyrie Tourer too. Seemed like my Corbin was a little narrower than my Ultimate but didn't notice as much as it sat me too low. Good luck.
