Yes it should. There is also a 10A fuse under the right side cover.

There is a test procedure for that switch in the service manual, before you go spending money/

Do a search with the part number (google). Might find a better price.

I found prices from $14 to $75 for part number:  37760-MT2-003

Didn't check for gasket  price.

Thermo switch @ the radiator. Theres a many a years of shared models that uses it. Click on "diagrams":

My bike runs really cool thus I thought the thermo switch was a issue thus I ordered one aftermarket and devised a over ride switch setup. Come to find out that it worked while doing a carb synch but damn it took a long time get there but cycled properly thru process. I be concerned if the idiot light works if the thermo switch is working but...

Mine has to sit while running for some time before the fan comes on. I have a gauge, so know when it's getting hot enough; never seen the warning light come on. Did it come on, and the fan did not? Did you check for air in the radiator?

The fan on my Valkyrie came on just once, years ago at a hot Florida intersection.  The coolant gets changed every two years.  Daily riding indicates the cooling system works as it should.  Seems easy enough to test it if we choose to do so.

On mine I was sitting at an unusually long traffic light that typically the fan would come on.
This time, it didnt which raise my suspicions.... maybe I am over reacting...  8)
I'm due for a coolant change so, "a while I'm in there", change the switch....
Would you trust one of those ebay switches that vendors are selling?

Over the years it has been found that if a Honda car uses the same part, it is cheaper in price.

My suggestion is to shop, not buy the first one you find. If I absolutely had to have it and they could put it in my hand right now, I would probably buy the $75 part and cuss myself all the way home. But 3-4 days later there would be a box with a couple $10 parts setting on my porch.

I just replaced mine in my Magna. The idiot light never had come on in the past. But a couple weeks ago it did and I checked the fan and the fan works. I mention this because it's the same part for my Valkyrie. While I waited for the switch to arrive I put together an easy on/off switch so I could still ride. One wire I connected to the fan and the other to ground. I flipped the fan on when I was riding below 30mph. Probably running it cold but I was able to ride it. I can't give you a cheapest price, I got it from the Honda dealer I used to work at so I get parts pretty cheap.

The Valkyries seem to have a history of the temp light flickering without really overheating. I tested my temp(fan) switch, the coolant is changed regularly, no air pockets and the fan works as it should. The last thing i did was put a new radiator cap on to rule that out. Could test it as the parts stores didn't have an adapter that fit. It was cheap, I used a 90s Honda Accord if I'm not mistaken. I also listened and checked the overflow tank for boiling coolant. With everything else replaced or testing ok I'm chalking the flickering light up to ghosts in the machine. I don't feel like digging into the wiring.

PS the switch I got from Honda came with the oring gasket included.
