This year is #70, I can't imagine what it's going to be like.  :2funny:

Wow, a 70th HS reunion, that's amazing.  :cooldude:

Are you still local to your HS, you can be the coolest guy there cruising up on the trike.  :)

I attended my 55th last year. The crowd was much smaller than the 51st (50th was postponed by COVID). Last time we needed to rent a large hotel meeting room. This time a few tables at a restaurant worked.

Jersey, I no longer live in my "home town" but am about a days ride away in Wisconsin. I was born/raised in Iowa, call Ft. Dodge home although I have no family there since my parents retired to Arkansas many years ago. Since my parents have both been gone over 25 years now(mom first), I didn't feel a need to visit their home in Arkansas while attending Inzane26 a short time ago.

Towards the end of my senior year of high school my nemesis, the jock brained head of the sportsball team was taunting me as usual; I told him I actually pitied him. "Why fa*#($@)???"

...your life is about to be over. You've peaked. You go down hill from here.
Mine is about to begin, I go up from here.

(Braindead jock head insults and ramblings here.)

Time passes. Roughly ten years after graduation I was going to lunch working my relatively high paying IT job, driving my turbo charged mid engine 2 seater sports car, life was indeed very good.

Went to the local mall for lunch. Got out of my car and as I was walking to the mall entrance I heard someone calling my name. Stopped to see and chat.

It was my high school nemesis...

"Dude, you were right. You were so right. I wish I'd listened to you back then."

He was a mall cop.

I consider that incident my high school reunion, all of them, and haven't bothered going to any of the actual reunions.

(Even for my young tender self compared to most of my wizened elders here, this year would have been my 36th.)
Never ask a geek 'Why?',just nod your head and slowly back away...

I went to one reunion, ten years after graduation. What a laugh that was. All those cute cheerleaders, having had 2-3 or more kids, now could no more do a cartwheel without a covered wagone wheel axle stuck up...you get the picture. One guy I had a confrontation with in HS was equally ridiculous. In school he thought he was hot sxxx, I told him he didn't even qualify as a warm fart. All happened in the locker room, he came after me big time. Ended up rather quickly, I went to my next class...he didn't. At the reunion he arrived with a belly big enough to hold an entire keg. I didn't stay for the entire list of events, a couple of former "aquaintances" fussed at me about leaving early. Most of those in attendance I had no interest in rekindling a friendship or talking about our HS days. What surprised me was the number of class members that had passed in that first ten years following graduation. Can't help but wonder how many are left, now that most would be in our late 80's.

I only went to my ten year reunion. I thought it would be more fun. I was married and my wife was bored and she is much more outgoing than I am. I missed my 50 year reunion which was in 2020. Maybe I'll try the 60th? I wouldn't expect a big turnout but I think I would enjoy hearing about some of my classmates life stories. You go 60 years without seeing people you knew, or thought you knew, should be interesting, maybe?
