Headlight Issue - Dirty Starter Switch?

Folks:

After doing some unrelated maintenance on my 1998 Valkyrie, the headlight abruptly stopped working after a short test ride.  Everything else (e.g., tail lights, marker lights, idiot lights, etc.) works fine - and it fires right up and runs great after a plug change, new air filter and carb sync. 

I've checked the H4 bulb and the fuse - which both appear to be good.  The headlight is run through a dedicated Eastern Beaver relay system, so the power draw on the switch is minimal.  Is the likely culprit a dirty starter switch?

If memory serves, I've "serviced" this before and it's a fiddly undertaking for the dexterously challenged.  I just want to exhaust all other possibilities before heading down this path.

If your relay legs are numbered, check if you have power to 85 and ground on 86. If so your switch is working.
Check that you have constant power coming into # 30. Power to #30 should be fused somewhere within the kit harness from the battery. With relay triggered, you should then have power out on # 87.

Thanks kindly - I had overlooked the relay.  I'll have to do a little more troubleshooting to further isolate the switch as the problem.
