There have been twice as many motorcycle vs auto accidents this year compared to this time last year...
Seems like a couple times a week we hear of another motorcycle vs auto accident...Don't know the cause of these accidents, speed or driver's inattention...
We have had to fatalities extremely close to where we live...

I see a lot of distracted drivers on the road fussing with their phone or touch screen in their vehicle. Scary.

I don't ride at night any more. That cuts down my risk a bit. And I never drive/ride impaired. Sadly, some people do.

Well now, to ride on the Cape is very dangerous! Just don't do it!  Not now, at least, wait till October.   Here, it's EVERYBODY!!  There is no age, sex, mentality, race,  they are all STUPID!!    They are all distracted by something or someone. AND, don't get me going on the young sport bike riders, they ask for it all the time.

Seems like the majority of bike accidents in general are at dark, in urban ares and involve zip splats.

No real info, just observation of news reports and YouTube.

Driver distraction has no demographics, it's all walks (drivers) of life.

I also limit my riding to daylight hours, trying to avoid all cities or urban areas as much as possible.

Going out of my way to avoid them works well.  Adds to the ride enjoyment.

Luckily, I live in a rural area and can do so most times.
