Interstate radiator pods

If I removed my radiator pods off my interstate would it affect anything or do any harm ?

Do you mean to ride it without the pods?

The pods were designed to divert radiator heat out around your legs. The panel behind the radiator will stick out and trimming off will bring the heat back. Also, the engine guards aren't polished under the pod housing.

I was just wondering, so the pods are really for the rider direct the heat away ? I like the tour models and just thinking of removing the pods and trunk, thanks for the reply

Another consideration is the pods deflect water (and foreign objects) from your legs.

The pods do perform some of the tasks for which they were intended (minimally).  Mostly they provide ab appearance to the Interstate causing it to look like a larger bike.

Removing the pods (I think is a bad decision) is not that complicated.  There may be some trimming of the heat shield and one will need Standard (or Tourer) radiator trim.  It will also leave the engine guards with meaningless tabs.
