Here we go again. Battening down the hatches. We're 45 miles east of Pensacola. Kinda near the center of the cone of uncertainty.

If we don't get hit by a spin off tornado this should be more mild than the last two storms weathered but theres always the excitement of the unknown.

We're thawing a couple big steaks to cook up today so if the power goes out we'll have a couple meals already cooked

The Valkyrie is safe!

So, the track has shifted our way a little. Might feel some stronger wind. We aren't evacuating so I'll post updates as long as we have power

Ok heavier rain now. Periods of sideways rain so I estimate the gusts at 20-30mph or so.

Worst case scenario is 80 to 110mph tonight.

Why do they always have to hit at night.

Chrisj CMA

Ok. Power flickering. Wind gusts are 40-50. Things are blowing and we still have an hour or so before landfall.

All still ok at the moment

Best of luck for little damage in your area. Hope it passes with as little fanfare as possible, and you all stay safe.

Chrisj CMA

Ok. Judging by radar we are close to as bad as it's going to get. I'm sure we had a few gusts over 70mph. That's almost hurricane force.

Lots of leaves and small branches down. I can feel the house pulsing with the wind and pressure surges. I almost forgot what that's like.

Can't see any damage yet. We shall see as we have a couple three hrs of this to go still

Holding onto our butts her in the panhandle

I work for Fairbanks Morse Defense / Bird-Johnson here in MA, and one of our sites is in Pascagoula, MS. They are expecting a fairly direct hit as well. Closed today and planning to re-open on the 12th. Well, as I said, I hope everyone in your area gets as little damage as possible.

Thanks Ken. I hoped to. Just praying for no insurance claims. I don't mind clean up or repairing a fence. Just don't need the serious stuff

Ok power is off candles are lit flashlights are handy and we can still hear the wind like it's a locomotive out there.

Just a couple more hours and the bad stuff should be past

I know you've been through these before Jeff. With 46 years in SW Fl. we have too. Stay safe, we're praying for all of you on the path.

Hope you made it through ok...

Ok!!! Power is back on and phone service restored. Absolutely no damage to anything.

The good Lord took care of us

Some in our area reported 110 mph gusts. I think ours was 75-80

Glad it's over!!
