Will probably be there a bit after 10, have to swing by wild west honda on the way and they don't open till 9.  I will try to remember to bring some of my gear for electrical work since I saw a few people need to do that.

Well what a great day just got home we hopefully pleased the Darklord with 6 total new Valks gone to the darkside and we do it right in TEXAS we GOT COOKIES with our Darkside tires!!!!







I had a great day thanks to all that came out and the food we ate Thanks for cooking Wizard and Francos wife made some great Kolaches..
We had a great turn out and got ALOT done !!!

We got a lot done for an impromptu wrench party.

All done and back on the road in less than 6 hours and we barbecued hamburgers for lunch in the middle.

I had a great time and met some really friendly folks.  Allen and Ray notwithstanding. 

I've ordered my replacement seat latch already.  Riding on the DS is interesting.  A bit rougher than I had imagined it would be but still sweet.  I will probably have to play with the PSI to get it to where I like it.  All in all a great day.

Thanks to everyone for all the assistance and especially to Wizard and to Lyn-Del for opening up their place to us.

thanks to everyone for their help today ,when we honored the darker side.
its a dream. the feel is tighter, the handling more resolute, the turns sharper (the u-turns especialy .its gonna be more fun getting lost)
running the 65 hydro edge at 36 psi ,the front mezler at 38 , the 416 s at 39 ,the dana beads spinning round . we took a ride down 59 to richmond and back up 90 tonight. Chantal couldn t feel a thing exept the turns are a lot sharper and there is more leanning . no scraping . no change in rpms .think i ll have to go to more psi but right now 36 is just right for such a hard tyre.  (also got rid of certain vibrations)

Mine is a Goodyear TT, 55 series.  Like everyone has said, the ride is different and I thought the tight turns would be more difficult, but they are easier.  I have 43.5 lbs in it and I think it is just right. 

Since this tire is a little shorter than stock (Avon), the 0-80 times are better.   It just seems to stick you to the back of the seat!

Went to dinner last night 2 up and the fender bolt rubbed the shaft side of the tire (the side the nut cage mod was done to).  I think I will have to get some shocks with greater carrying capacity to ride 2 up.  I am going to adjust the Progressive 440HD's to the other end of the spectrum and see how they ride.  If this doesn't fix it, I may have to look at shortening the bolt.  It is not a stock bolt due to the trailer hitch.  I will check that while swapping the shocks.

It was good getting out and meeting some new folks, I had a great time.  Thanks for hosting us all down there, and for the assistance with changing my final drive oil (looked like it really needed it, glad it didn't get put off any longer!)

Took MAGNUM out yesterday for a second "GO" at this car tire thing.  Car tire?  What Car tire?  Other than the expected need to stay in the lean on turns and lane changes, it didn't seem much different to me.  The shakedown ride home from Wizard's was Saturday 5pm Houston weekend traffic, 1000+ degrees on the superslab, and by the way did I mention I was pulling my lil trailer STINGER?...   One of the unexpected bonuses was the diminished feel of the trailer wiggle at highway speeds which has been a constant nagging occurence with the MC tire.  The trailer may still be back there wiggling, but it's not transmitting forward to the bike.   70-75mph through Houston, and nary a wiggle or a waggle.
I'm still adjusting to the steering, but I just relax, sit back and let the "Force" guide me on this Darkside journey.  I'm running the TOYO Proxes T1s  205/55R/16 . Speed rated W,  Traction 280.   I dig the tread on this one.   MAGNUM's the Black/Yellow on far right.

The Houston area is becoming its own little out post with all these dark siders...  Went to get the bike inspected this weekend and the guy did a double take at the back tire, he paused but didn't ask then after checking the lights and stuff he says turn your the front tire back and forth  ??? never had that asked before and he's like OK thanks....

Last time I got mine inspected the guy goes you one of those car tire riders. I said been running one for 6yrs he just gave me a sticker and went on about business as usual.

Where we get ours inspected, the guy knows we'd never bring in a bike that needed tires or lights fixed, etc.  In fact, when I took the trike in yesterday,  the brake lights decided not to work with the front lever, but he gave me the sticker anyway knowing it would be fixed promptly.  I had it working before I left his inspection stall .... and Wizard got it fixed properly as soon as I brought it home.

He's never been obvious about looking at tires, etc.  Not anymore, anyway.  Long history helps.

i forgot to take the chrome valve stem along when we had the ct tire mounted . but then the rubber one is only one year old, so i thought!
the pressure went to 21 psi. no wonder this ct is so smooth.
a little soapy water revealed the leak. . eleven months  old  stem from stubbs cycle. looking for someone with a spare stem, or wait till monday and order from patch boy.
