Sorry folks, you cannot tax, spend or increase your debt to attain prosperity. Not in your home, your county, your state or your nation.

All the best,

Mark

Hey Mark, ever buy a house? Ever pay taxes for schools?  Did you go to college?  How about roads? How about the Military?? Ever buy a more fuel efficient car?  Better appliances? Could go on and on but it won't matter.

Your statement is a nice slogan, but it is wrong.

And your question about the cost of Bushes war?  One trillion so far with trillions yet to be spent on veterans healthcare, benefits, and rebuilding the military resources.  The real cost - about 4500 dead Americans, 60,000 American wounded, 1.5 million Iraqi dead.

As of Sept. 2010 American casualties are 4404 dead, 31,839 wounded.  I guess you were rounding up.

I stand corrected Trynt.  I had heard this morning that the 31K figure was serious wounded but that appears to be the total.

How much can you be taxed, how much can you spend of what you have left and at what debt ratio do you become properous?

Just curious,

Mark

I guess that depends what you spend it on doesn't it.

If you spend it on a college education or, as a country, if you spend it on education in general, doesn't that help your prosperity?

If you spend it on infrastructure?

Asking for how much or "ratios" is just avoiding the issue. I'm shocked you would do that....lol

Most of my friends up here in the Ivy league part of the country are just watching their kids pile up dept like i have never seen before..These kids are going to College now days and it's the norm to rack up 100.000 dollars in loans, Now that is something that tells me this is going to break the bank again when as usual Mr pres has ignored the private sector job market, When talking to most of our friends while shopping for a UV they felt like they were being sold a house our car like these people in administration were no different than a car salesman, The stress these kids are coming out of school with, and all this dept is Bondage, and that my friend is exactly what takes a mans freedom away, but this is just a way for the Government to control us is through Dept....they hate people like me that don't have any dept or a single credit card. But don't let me brag too much the property tax and Gas tax and Self employment tax and tax on my cloths and tax phone Tax cable tv tax Lunch food tax tax on my water bill tax Tax Tax Tax , Are we really FREE anymore? history has repeated itself again and again and again. I have been trying to find the numbers of how many College grads total every year are looking for work, and are working at McDonald's with all these loans the numbers must be staggering i feel sorry for them.

Here's the deal. Since we don't know what to spend our money on that would properly stimulate the economy, it's only proper that we should give the greater majority of our earned income to the government so it can be properly distributed by people that are much better at this than we are, and therefore stimulate the economy.

Jeff I think you hit it on the head.  This administration is not trying to strengthen the economy....no, that would take way longer than any of us would want.  (his words)  What they are doing is just taking all the money and putting it where they think it should be IF the economy changed into what they want it to be.   This way they cut out the middle man and make a sure result: they dont need to wait and see, on an unreliable ecomony just create the result and claim victory.  Pure Socialism     oops I said that word, now Ill be called all sorts of names.

The problem is this stimulates nothing except the federal government itself.  It just creates more people dependent on uncle sam, and strenthens the dependence of those already relying on the government.  We are going to need a bigger government soon if this continues

Facts, logic and common sense mean nothing to some people. Their belief system is based purely on emothion, flawed beliefs and the destruction of anyone who doesn't share their particular set of emotions. The less they know, the stronger their emotions and beliefs seem to be. Like Michael Savage wrote: liberalism is a mental disorder.
