Middle of nowhere off Gooch Rd. A wrong turn I took due to no signpost. A reason I don't like GPS. If I'd followed a GPS I would never have come across this waterfall.

Smelt like an open cess pit. My track is on the right. I got over the rear axle and had to push the bike out with the rear wheel spinning. You gotta time it right when you hit dry land

All that sweat to face this. If I was 20 years younger and on a 250 I'd have a go.

Oh well 2 miles downhill. Although there was a trail that went to the right but I need confirmation that doesn't dead end before I go back there.

Great pictures Paul    The nut on the tree is a Black Walnut and yes you can eat'em they will stain your hands bad when cleaning the outer shell...My Grand-Mother used them in cakes.

Ditto, and the stuff that covers them will stain your hands for life, or what seems to be

a long time.

I have two friends with dual sport bikes now, so I should be posting some pics such as yours..

Luvit!  Keep it comin'.  I haven't figured out how to post pictures on  the board yet.  Joe showed me one time when he was at my house, but I'm a dinosaur with computers.  As you have enjoyed your KLR, so am I.  Maybe I'll figure out how to post pics, in the mean time, am enjoying yours.

Lots of iron in the dirt up there, got that Georgia coloring.  My uncle had one of those black walnut tree's in his yard.  He used to put them on the driveway and drive his truck over them to get that green outer shell off the nut inside.  After that you let them dry out for a few months before you break them open with a hammer.  And like they said,don't get the liquid from the outer shell get on your hands, it stains really bad.
Keep up the good work on the explorations.  GPS.......who needs um anyway.  Those wrong turns let you see a lot of places that you wouldn't have otherwise.  Oh, and I have one and they sometimes send you on wild goose chases!!!!!!!!!

Great post, makes me want a dirt bike!!  We don't have mountain trails here though, just sand and rocks...occasional quicksand along the Brazos or Red River...

Good Pics Paul but you should have been with us on the NGMC ride instead.  We went through much tougher areas than these just trying to get from Lookout Mountain to the damn BBQ place in Chattanooga.

What are these? Edible?

Those appear to be walnuts, which when peeled, dried and opened would yield nuts. Wear gloves if peeling to avoid stained hands.
