I hurt my back a few weeks back. I have a Mustang solo with a back rest. Since having some therapy the back rest hurts my back. I have the ultimate on my other bike with no back pain. Might have to get rid of the Mustang. Need some info on stock seat (new style)with utopia backrest . Or does anyone know if the Utopia will work with a Mustang seat? Pictures of the mustang setup.

Have you tried adjusting the Mustang backrest.  They do have some movement.

I had a problem with my Ultimate lowboy backrest being too tall (mine did not contact the top of the seat as is shown in the website pictures) , and Dez would not modify the mount plate.... so I gave my Ultimate backrest to Marty, and I run a Mustang backrest in it's place (both fit the lowboy seat).

Have adjusted every way possible. Never had back problems in my life. Might try and pull the back rest off my big boy and try it in the mustang.

Warlock, unless the Ultimates have changed, only the Lowboy and Mustang backrests are interchangeable; flat bar-stock.  The Bigboy (which I have on my other IS), backrest is mounted by square-stock, and won't fit the Mustang slot.

Why not just swap seats (and backrests) if you have a Bigboy?

If your back is not going to get better, maybe you better sell the whole Mustang setup.

When my back was really bothering me, I got a dirt bike back brace and wore it whenever riding.  My back was much better... but my belly didn't like it.

Right now I have a friends low rider on it. My backrest from my big boy and low rider will interchange. My big boy has the 1/4" thick x 1 1/2" wide flat bar. They may have changed them since I bought mine at Inzane 5.

David, my lowboy I bought new, but the bigboy came on the other bike, and is old.  Who's is older I don't know...... but if you have a bigboy backrest that fits the mustang, give it a whirl.

I just checked the Ultimate site, but there's no good detail of the backrest hardware to view.

Just got a e-mail from Bob at Utopia back rest. Told me to ship him my piece from the Mustang back rest and he will adapt his back rest to it. So now keep my seat and add Utopia to it. I've heard nothing but good things from them.
